I keep wondering about the burnt toast...its like haunting me ever since i saw him eating it for the first time.
So...what is the reason??

And i came up with this...
What if someone from his past...didn't know how to cook and somehow burnt the toast...and Sahir was a pretty cool guy in the past..so he really wanted to keep this person happy...and ate it without even thinking twice...and fell in love with it...because it was cooked by someone he loved.

So, what do you think guys?? I didnt see this theory any where...sorry if this was already discussed.

Also.. i am really not very confident about this person being an ex girlfriend...so guys what do you think?? Is this lame or does this make sense?? Please let me know

May be he eats it as a reminder of how bitter and cruel life is

To me it doesn't seem like he is eating it as a way to remember something especially a pleasant memory.
It's more like he is denying himself certain basic niceties like sweet mangoes and going out in the rain.
It's more like if you don't get used to good things you won't be pained by their loss.. Something like that!

Ok lets say he is trying to stay away from all those things which he used to like before...but why eat burnt toast??
Doesn't it look like there is a very specific reason for that..

Sahir's dad is missing from the story altogether. Maybe it reminds him of his father. Or maybe he is punishing himself by letting go of his favorites.

The dard of sahir will be related to his father. The father of arzoo left het because he wanted a son and sahir father left him because of some other girl.

Yes..his dad could be the reason...and this will be the connecting thread between Aarzoo and Sahir...both affected by their dads

I feel it's a way of punishment ,,
Sometimes people pit of guilt love or pain do things tht harm them or do unpleasant stuff ...
Maybe it's tht

Ecri i agree the way he eats it looks like he's punishing himself...but it may also be turn out as a remembrance of some1...some1 who might have left a sweet or a bitter memory...it all depends on his past n we get to know wen it unfolds...
