Honestly, at this point, it looks as if Ranvi wants to be the only man in the lives of his mother and sister. His attachment seems unhealthy. Perhaps I am going off on a different tangent altogether, but it is almost as if the writers are using Ranvi to delineate an Oedipal complex (with his mother) and also supporting the theory of the Electra complex which Veera used to delineate before (because he is a father-like figure in his sister's life).

Ranvi would kill himself if he sees anyone accuse him of an Oedipus complex.🤣

And adult RanVeera have often given off the wrong vibes, thanks to Shivin's acting.😆

I have to agree with most of what you have said in Blue. Yes Ratan has a right to be happy and want to do something for herself for a change. Even Chaiji, who is from a different generation thinks Ratan deserves some personal happiness in her life. I love Chaiji's character coz she was always shown as someone who was moderate. Also, her love for Ratan outweighs her concerns RE society etc. Both she and Ratan are broad minded. They are OK with Gunjan dressing in short dresses at home, as long as she keeps it longer in public.

It was due to Ranvi's psycho drama that Nihal had to leave the Pind last time when the truth about SP's death came out. Chaiji wanted to get NIRA married despite this, but because of Ranvi's attitude Nihal ended up leaving town. At that time, Ratan suppressed any regret she felt at Nihal leaving for the sake of her son. At least then he was a kid. Now 16 years later, he is trying to come in the way of her happiness AGAIN?

The reason that Ranvi is against NIRA is that he thinks that only HE can keep his Mother happy. HE will do a son's duty, so WHY does his Mother need anyone ELSE? He is so selfish and a hypocrite that he doesn't think that anyone other than him deserves to have a life partner that loves them, and they also love? He married Gunjan, like some pagal Aashiq. He even lied to his Mother and didn't tell her that he was not guilty of creeping into that van with Gunjan, when she was so gutted by the accusations of the town's people. He didn't listen to his sister who he claims to love so much.

We all know how Gunjan acted after they got married? Even to the extent of stealing money and trying to leave town? But he forgave her EVERYTHING. But he cant get past Baldev? He only ever sees what he does wrong? He dosen't care that his sister LOVES him, but wants to get her married to Rajveer that he has know for like 2 weeks? He's giving HIM such a great character certificate? To some extent his concerns RE Baldev, I get? He thinks that Baldev's temper and fights may land Veera in trouble?

But his attitude towards NIRA? It is SOLELY based on his presumption that his mother is NOT a person in her own right that deserves to be happy on her own with someone SHE loves? NOT just being HIS Mother for the rest of her life. She is not just his Mother, she is a person too. A women, and she has the right to have a life partner again. Not just a son to look after her. Also, Ratan is NOT old. So her getting married again is totally acceptable. Yes, if she had re-married in her 30's with the young children it would have been better. But even now, it's not too late for her to have some personal happiness and have a life companion. WHY should Ranvi be allowed to STEAL that from her? All these years it was HER that ran the farm and now she is even the Sarpanch? She has proven herself better than most men? She dosent need her son to hold her hand like she is some Abala Nari?

Ranvi is grating on me now. He always did for some of his attitudes, but now he just comes across as a hypocrite, and a judgmental and selfish, over possessive individual. Someone who cant see that his Mother and his Sister are people in their OWN right that can chose what they want for themselves. For such a Great "Aashiq" who used to write love songs about his great love for Gunjan, he seems to have NO respect for other people's love? NO value in their love? Only HIS love is valuable? He is honestly on my last nerve now!
