VORTEX
Every turn he took it spun around
Every step he took he slipped around
Every time he moved it came around
Life was but a series of betrayal ...
His track record in it was abysmal
The only recourse was bacchanal
Because an unloved man was his portrayal ...
He cried to the heavens above
He asked for a little love
She had come to him because of his little dove
but they had managed to create their own little cove
today that cove lay shattered
His heart & life lay scattered
He turned around & looked but he was alone
Well his past today had created its very own clone
Abandonment was his destiny he thought
When being in her arms was all he sought
He lay lost & dejected
Thinking yet again he was rejected
A man stuck in a vortex .. every turn he took .. he came to the same point .. every time he moved forward he came to the same point .. he came to the point ... REJECTION ...
As he got up groggily in the morning .. listening to deafening chatter of all around him . talking of celebrations .. the voice he heard loudest was hers .. she was rejoicing .. she was celebrating .. his mind .. his insecurity pushed him into the room .. where she spoke the words .. i love you to another... the pounding in his head now echoed in his heart .. mayhap she was celebrating ... mayhap she was celebrating being in love ...
He cried them to stop .. he shouted them to keep quiet .. he couldnt hear the words of his mind ... his heart was anyways not talking ... he goes away to his room ... & finally takes the courage to look into the mirror ... her words come tumbling to the fore ... with them a barrage of memories hit him at the core ... He takes a deep breath .. tears adorn his eyes ... he tires to practice in the mirror .. she did not matter to me ... he says this marriage was about his dove ... but he to couldnt sustain the look after that ... he walked away ... repeating a litany .. i will not let this drown me ... but those words were mere sputtering echoes of a person who was trying to rise to the surface of the vortex ...
