Thank you topic maker! I couldn't have said it better myself!
Ever since this "bhayanak ateet/sach" story line was shown it generated curiosity but the hype was so much and this "mystery" was dragged so far out that it has truly fallen flat. Terrible job writers for ruining a sweet innocent love story with such cliched storylines.
Bhavna loving someone - Vikram of all people - even if we accept that part - this back story has WAY too many loop holes. Bhavna and Vikram were in love - they come from a small town/village where love marriages are unacceptable, therefore they must elope. Upto this part I'm comprehending - when it comes to dealing with generations old ideology - you can't change people and their thoughts over night - it's best to separate yourself from that situation and life your life especially if you know you have nothing to hide/ you are not committing any sin.
Now starts the mass confusion - Bhavna was supposed to wait for Vikram at the dekri but Vikram got held up somewhere as he wanted to make sure his family was taken care of in his absence.
So he arrives late - doesn't see Bhavna goes back to his own home to find his family dead - ok flaw in logic here - if your beloved is not at the designated location wouldn't you go look for her first - perhaps start with her home? Even if we assume he was on his way to her but was stopped midway as there was some mad commotion going on at his house - he gets there just in time to see his family dead and everyone assumes/tells him that Bhavna's family did this on Bhavna's insistence as Bhavna felt that Vikram ditched her. WAIT A SECOND - how big is this village that to go from one point to the other for Vikram is enough time for Bhavna to have waited for him at the dekri, gone home and hypothetically complained to her family and they went out to kill Vikram's family. WHY WOULD THEY KILL HIS FAMILY?! If anything since Bhavna's family was so upset about Bhavna's affair and her failed attempt at running away/eloping - wouldn't they want to kill HER?!
Now Vikram shows up at Bhavna's house and Bhavna is blackmailed to accept blame for Vikram's family's death or else her mother will die and she does! Great but now her dad decided to kill himself from all the shame that Bhavna brought on the family and the rest of the family disown her. If they wanted to kick her out - why did they bother with killing Vikram's family and what purpose does that serve anyway?! If she is bringing them so much shame - kick her out (which they did) but kicking her out AND committing suicide - i'm getting conflicting messages here.
Now the MAHA twist in the kahani - Veer. Ok so Veer wanted revenge on Bhavna because she caught him trying to harm another girl. Accepted. He drugged Vikram so Vikram would not be able to meet Bhavna on time thus leading Bhavna to feel that Vikram ditched her thus breaking her heart/shaming her - I'll even accept that part too. However - the time lines make no sense. What kind of secret elopement is this that Veer knows Vikram and Sangeeta are scheduled to elope? Even if Veer drugged Vikram - in the flashback disclosed to Avni and Raj respectively - Vikram was late as he went to make arrangements so that his family is taken care of in his absence - when was he drugged and when did he go to make arrangements?!
In any case - the whole back story falls flat. All that hype for nothing. The only thing that works is that ironically Sangeeta and Vikram loved each other and couldn't be together in their youth but Avni and Raj their respective children find no one else to fall in love with but each other and do get married - so I suppose that is poetic justice of some nature? Hopefully Raj and Avni's union although marred by skeletons of their parents past - will put and end to his cat/mouse game and Bhavna's timid existence.
