"Happy New Year" joins 100 Cr club even before its release

Mumbai. The Abhishek Bachchan starrer "Happy New Year" has managed to join the 100 Cr club, even before the movie has hit the theaters, trade analysts confirm to Faking News.

This is a new record of sorts in the B-Town. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan in side roles.

With the release around the corner, the Sensex too soared and is expected to continue the bull run till the first reviews of the movie come out.

Rajeev Masand has already given a thumbs down for the movie and a rating of 1 & half stars, while Taran Adarsh is reported to have given it 5 stars.

The marketing team, credited with this achievement, was all praise for the Junior B and Raja Khan. It should be noted that the movie is being promoted along with everything from CLT 20, ISL, TV shows, TELEBRANDS, all kinds of advertisements, and also in the recently concluded Maharashtra assembly elections.

The head of marketing Mr. Patel was quoted saying, "In fact we tried to rope in Narendra Bhai to do a couple of rallies to promote the film. We had even written some dialogues for that - Bhaiyon aapne ye movie dekhni hai ki nahi, zor se boliye dekhni hai ki nahi, Shahrukh Khan ko aur paisewala banaoge? Deepika ko aur coverage doge?' - and more things like that. But we couldn't manage it. The option of SRK doing a 3-d hologram show is still not ruled out."

Times of India has announced that they would mask Deepika's face in all the photo ads they print.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is all excited about his consecutive 100 cr club entry. He is now hoping to be roped into a Salman Khan movie next to complete the hat-trick and become the only actor to do so.

Farah Khan, the ace director, has announced a sequel for the movie titled, Happy Diwali' which will be a New Year release.

Reportedly, Sajid Khan had expressed keenness in co-directing the movie. But sources say that Shahruh Khan sidelined him after he got a call from Saif Ali Khan.

The songs of the movie have however failed to attract big business. They are causing quite a stir amongst the viewers, making them change the channel as soon as it plays. Apparently no CDs were bought on the Flipkart big billion day sale, even though the CDs were being sold at Rs.2. The absence of a Honey Singh song has also dented the album at large.

However, the actor/producer Shahrukh Khan is not worried too much since the movie is already in the 100 Cr club. Farah Khan too is said to be throwing a success party inviting the who is who of Bollywood and also Sajid Khan.

It remains to be seen how well the audience receive this movie and help it reach the 500 Cr club.
