Ram was pacing in his room, deep in thought, rubbing his two hands against each other. "she clearly said me that she cannot love me" he thought as he ran his fingers to his already messed up hair. settling himself on the couch, he took the glass of wine before him and gulped it. his eyes were turning red "how can she say a no to me" he shouted and threw away the glass he held, which shattered into pieces on the floor. Getting up, he tired to steady himself. taking his car keys he stumbled out of the room, talking all the way. Ram raced his car outside the city. Pressing the accelerator with all his force, he hit the steering with his hand "she indirectly rejected me" he said as tears made their way down his eyes. he closed his eyes to relax a bit. He felt drowsy, like the world was turning upside down. He opened his eyes and the lights of a huge vehicle blinded his eyes, he knew he was going to be hit by the vehicle, but he was unable to see anything.
Priya woke up. Her head felt like it weighed tonnes. She closed her eyes. the dream was really bad. Her breath was heavy. She could hear the sounds of rain patting on her windows. She took the jug beside her bed and drank some water quickly. Taking her phone, she found it was nearly 1 at night. she felt so bad for Ram. "was he hiding his anger when I was there" she thought. as far as she knew about him, Ram should have reacted that way in her dream, but he was the totally opposite the night. she knew it would be awkward to call him now, but if she gave up calling him, then she had to give up sleep tonight. Leaving a sigh she dialled his number.
Ram was standing in his balcony "I wish I had Priya with me, we both could enjoy in the rain" he thought. tonight had gone the way he planned, but he never dreamt of Priya telling his past to him. it made him happy. He felt his phone vibrate in his trousers. "just to destroy a perfect moment, is it a crime to think about her" saying he took his phone. A broad smile came over his face "my girl" saying he attended the call. "Ram" her voice came from the other side "are you okay? Why are you breathing so heavily?" he asked "I.. ah.. I am ok, I just called..." "yeah Priya whats it?" he asked "nothing, I was not getting sleep, so I called you" she said. he smiled "Okay, so you find me entertaining ha?" he asked "no, I am sorry" she said "no problem, you can call me anytime" he said "aren't you sleeping" she asked "well, I am too happy today to sleep" he said "dint you go for a ride?" she asked. he laughed "usually I do that when I am happy, I went for a small ride after I dropped you home" he said "oh, are you okay?" she asked slowly "are you ok? Did you have a bad dream or what?" he asked "no no no.. I am ok, its just I was not getting sleep" she said "Relax Priya, I believe you, there is no need for so much No's. so you saw the gift?" he asked as he settled on his bed "yeah,it was awesome Ram, thank you so much, I mean you painted it for me, it means a lot to me" she said "don't make me blush" he said "and Kate is angry on you, she said you haven't painted her a bird" Priya told him "and please tell her that I am equally angry on her" he said "why?" she asked "there are some boring reasons for that, lets talk something interesting" he said "I want to say that, my first date was fantastic" she said. "hmm, anything else?" he asked "and I really like spending time with you" "anything else?" "and I am looking forward to spend time with you" she said "great to hear, and the same here, I will be waiting our next time together" he said in a seductive tone "huh, I am not sure" she said "We will see, what you doing now?" he asked "just in my bed" she said "how I wish I was there to warm you up" he said. she laughed "that's too much Ram" she said "I just want to be frank with you" he said "I appreciate that" she said. time flew as they both tugged themselves under the sheets, with phone stuck to their ears.
The alarm screamed right in her ears and Priya sat up straight. "jesus" she said annoyed. She realized she had falled asleep as they spoke. Taking her phone she turned the alarm off, a new message was waiting to be opened. She knew who it was from. "hey think you fell asleep, glad I am good at making you sleep, sleep well my angel, good night" she read it and smiled. Today she had to work the whole day. She always missed going to the hospital during her holiday. Excited about going to work she left the bed and went directly to get a shower.
Kate was storming here and there and in the living room. "Kate, breakfast ready, shall we eat?" Priya asked dropping herself on a chair. "Priya don't talk to me, why didn't you wake up early today?" Kate asked a little angry. Priya laughed "I wanted to see you storming like this in the last minute" Priya said "that's too mean, I am glad that you had the heart to wake me up, else I would be sleeping the whole day" Kate said. "comeon its not so late my dear, eat your breakfast" saying Priya served her plate with bread and egg. Kate sat beside her and pushed the whole bread inside her mouth "Kate you will choke" Priya said "I would rather get choked, than getting lectures from my boss" telling Kate grabbed her bad. Giving a tight hug to Priya she waved her bye and left. Priya cleaned all the dishes and left to the hospital.
Amir closed the file that he held and looked directly at his boss "Sir, you have to sign here" he said. Ram was looking the other way, Amir's eyes followed the way his boss was looking. There was only the wall. Amir looked at his boss and saw him smiling. "sir?" he called slowly. Ram was still smiling looking the other way. Amir cleared his throat "yes Amir, what bought you here?" Ram asked "sir, I just need you signature here" Amir said "and why are you standing here looking at me, you could have called me" Ram said "I was about to call you Sir, sorry" Amir said slowly "no its okay, what about our branches abroad" Ram asked "everything is carrying on well sir" Amir said "and Amir, thanks for decorating my garden yesterday" Ram told him "my pleasure sir, I am glad you liked it" Amir said "I am glad she liked it" Ram said smiling "Sir?" "ah, its nothing you can leave the file, I will check it Amir" Ram told him "yeah sir, have a great day" "you too" Ram wished back. half stunned by his boss's behaviour Amir left the room. Ram's phone rang. "I should really try to get rid of this damn phone, always an interruption" murmuring this he attended the call.
"Ram, its Kate, are you free for some coffee in the evening?" she asked "Yeah sure, I am free from the noon, will your friend be coming?" he asked "not exactly, that's why I called you, she is working till night today" Kate said "ok then, I will pick you up from your office" Ram told her "I will come directly to the caf Ram, coz I don't want my boss to know that you are a friend of mine" Kate said "well then I will come in a disguise?" Ram asked "very funny, I have so many things to deal with you today" Kate told him "what? Don't tell me its about the painting" he said "wait a second, how did you know that I was angry on you for the painting" she asked "ahhh, Priya told me" he said slowly "comeon theres on way you could have talked to her, she went to sleep early, she went to work, and she never picks up calls in her work" Kate said "well, she went to sleep early, but she didn't get some sleep, she is so kind, so she didn't want to disturb your sleep, so she called me yesterday" he said "are you telling me that you and Priya had a night conversation?" Kate asked "yes, we did, for a long time and she fell asleep" he said "Ram I am really glad she called you" Kate said "why?" he asked "coz as far as I know, Priya cries a lot when she doesn't get sleep, I am happy she called you" Kate said "mmm, I will make sure she is happy Kate, I mean that" Ram told her "yeah I know about you, but you know what Ram, this whole thing of seeing you in love with someone is really funny, like my friend is behaving like a mad man" Saying she laughed "shut up Kate"" he said annoyed "and I am still not able to digest that stupid fact that Alex and you are really serious" Ram said "please Ram, I really love him" she said "I am happy for you, but sad too that he is away somewhere" he said "Ram, I will see you in the eve, my boss is coming" Kate said hurriedly "damn, take care my dear, you know I love you" he said "love you too, and hate you for painting me anything" saying she turned the phone off.
Priya looked at the man sitting in front of her. "are you feeling alright?" she asked "yeah" he said slowly "need some water?" she asked "no thanks doctor, can you just make me feel better?" he asked "if you want to feel better, the you have to tell me what your problem is, and first before that I want to know your name" Priya told him "I am Stefan" he stopped for a while. Priya gave him his time "I don't know what my problem is, I lost my wife a few weeks back, and I am not able to concentrate on anything, not able to take a step forward, I am stuck, I want to make a move, but I couldn't, I love her, I love her so much" he said as tears ran down his already puffy face "Stefan, just calm down, its okay" Priya told him "why did God do this to me, why" he banged her desk. "Stefan, relax its ok" she got up and went his side to calm him down. He pushed her away "I don't want you, I cam here as a friend of mine forced me too, I am leaving, tell him I behaved good" he told gritting his teeth "you need my help, else you can never move on" she said. he looked at her "I want to go to the place where she is can you help me?" he asked. she blinked at him "I cannot do that, but I can make your life here happy" she said "I don't want a happy life without her" he said and got up to leave "Ok its your wish, I wont push to open up to me Stefan, this is my card, it has my number, I am always ready to help" saying she extended her card. He looked at her "too cared about your patients aren't you?" he asked "that's my job, and I love helping them" she said with a smile. He snatched the card from her "please do me the favour of telling my friend, if you really care" saying he rubbed his eyes and left the room.
"Don't talk to me Ram" saying Kate turned the other side "Kate, you called me too just fight with me? This is too bad yaar, how many times do you want me to apologize?" he asked "get your hand off me" she said "Ok Ok, I promise too get you, loads of chocolates, and paint you a picture more beautiful than the one I gave Priya, will that satisfy?" he asked "Ram but you haven't painted anything for me till date, that's really bad" she said "Listen Kate, it just popped my mind that she like paintings, I saw it in her room that's why, and I never knew you liked paintings" he said "fair reason, yes I don't like them much, but it was such an adorable gift really, seriously I felt jealous" she winked. Ram laughed "I am glad you didn't end up fighting with her for the painting" he said "that's mean, I would never do like that" she said "between you not telling me about Alex, that was really bad too" he fired "Ram, Alex, I wasn't even serious about him really, it happened just a few days back" she said "whatever, you should have told me Kate, you were in contact with that idiot" he said "please don't tell him like that, I respect your love don't I? then you have to respect mine" she said. ram laughed "Relax dear, ok now, shall we order something" Ram asked "sure, we are done fighting" Kate winked as Ram called the waitress to place their order.
Priya arranged her things ready to leave. "leaving?" Cam asked entering the room "yeah work is done for the day, and Cam keep on the patient I told you, any emergency let me know, even if its night" she told him "don't worry doc, I will keep you informed" he said "thanks Cam, so when are you guys getting married?" she asked "ah, maybe this month, I am waiting to take her as my wife, it wil be a new experience wont it, and I hope I will enjoy it" he asked "yeah Cam I am sure you will like it, it will have ups and downs but it will be blissful, always remember to keep her happy" Priya told him "I will" he said "Ok Cam, I have to leave, good night, see you tomo" saying she locked her cabin behind them.
"come in Ram" Kate opened the apartment door "I think its better I leave, its really late" he said "Priya will come in a while" Kate said "well then ok, I will leave a little late" he winked "bas***d, your so bad Ram" she said "Did you tell Priya that we got her food?" he asked "yeah I left her a message so she will be here in an hour probably" Kate removed her coat "mm, can we play play-station till then?" Ram asked. kate looked at him "Ram that's a great idea, I really missed playing it with you" she said "me too" he said "Priya and I play a loads of time" she said "I dint know she liked playing" he said "try that it your next date, she will love you for sure" Kate teased "enough Kate, lets start" saying they settled themselves on two tiny chairs in front of the big Tv, holding the joystick in their hands excited.

"Perfect timing" Ram breathed "thinks she is here" saying Kate left to open the door. Ram placed the joystick down and followed her. kate opened the door and her jaw dropped "Alex" she managed
"hey baby" he winked, the man on the door was tall, lean, looking extremely handsome. He had a well tonned body. He wore a black turtleneck tshirt, hugging his muscled body, and blue jeans. He was leaning casually against the door looking at the woman in front of him lovingly. "Alex" saying again she hugged him tightly. He took her willingly in his embrace, holding her close to him "I love you" saying he pulled her back and kissed her lips lightly. "young lovers" Ram sad a little loud. Kate looked at him "Ram shut up" she said. "hey Ram, good to see you here, and you look great" Alex extended his hand to Ram "yeah good to see you too Alex, I am happy for you and Kate" Ram told him "thanks pal" Alex told him "Alex how come you are here?" Kate asked "I wanted to surprise my princess, is that a crime?" he asked "thank you" she said "baby, don't be formal to me" saying he wrapped his hand around her waist. "I love you" Kate said leaning on his shoulder. Ram smiled at them "I think I should leave now" he said "sorry Ram" Alex told him "come inside guys, we can have some chat, Priya will be here in a few minutes" saying Kate took them to the living room. Ram and Alex were talking about business and Kate was preparing coffe for them. She was half cursing herself for selecting a boyfriend who was in the same profession as her bestfriend. She heard the doorbell ring. "Ram can you open it, I think its Priya" she shouted "Ok" she heard Ram shout back.
"Priya are you ok?" Ram asked looking at Priya who was half drenched "Yeah it was raining so" "don't tell me you can on a scooter" he said "no, Ram what are you doing here?" she asked "I asked a question first" he said "I was playing in the rain?" she said slowly. He smiled "so you like the rain?" he asked "very much" she said "now you have to answer my question" she said "well, Kate and I went out and she invited me home" he said "and you look more beautiful in a drenched state" he winked. Priya's cheeks turned pink. Ram took his handkerchief out. Priya looked at him, he smiled at her. slowly he raised it to her face and rubbed of the water droplets in her face "I am jealous of these droplets" he said slowly. She realized they were standing outside "are we going to stand in this doorway the whole night?" she asked "sorry, come in" saying he handed her the handkerchief shut the door behind her.
"Priya?" Alex asked seeing Priya come "Alex? You came?" Priya asked him. "you guys know each other?" Kate asked as she came carrying the tray of cups "long story" both Priya and Alex said together "good to see you Priya" Alex lightly hugged Priya "nice to see you and you look handsome" Priya told him "thank you and thank you for all the help" he told her "now do you both only know each other, or Priya do you know he is Kate's boyfriend?" Ram asked Priya. "lemme say" Alex told them. "actually, it was Priya who helped me throughout, I was on a trip here when I saw them both in a mall, and later I talked to Priya personally, telling her how much I loved Kate, so she helped me giving me Kate's number and her id. That why I was able to contact you Kate, and even now it was Priya who helped me" Alex smiled "Priya you gave him my number?" Kate asked stunned "Listen Kate actually, I knew his intentions were good that's why now please don't fight with me please, I did it for you good I am sorry" Priya said holding her ears. Kate smiled "no I am not mad at you, I thought that you would be mad on me for hiding it from you" Kate told her "that's okay Kate I am really happy for you guys, Alex is so perfect for you and you always like handsome guys right?" Priya teased "Priya not in front of all please" Kate said as they all laughed. Priya hugged Kate "you both make an awesome pair" she told her. Ram smiled seeing Priya "how can someone think only good for others" he thought.
"Ok guys I have a small plan, I have planned a tour to Goa for a week, all of us" Alex told them "this is awesome" Kate said and hugged him "I cant go, the hospital will need me" Priya said. "no Priya, I can talk to Roger, please don't tell a no" Ram said suddenly. She looked at him, he was pleading through his eyes "If you don't go I wont either, I cant go with a pair of lovebirds alone" he said. "actually since when did you accpet coming to tours so easily Ram?" Kate asked him. Ram starred at Kate and looked back at Priya "Ok then, if Roger is ok, then I am ok too" Priya said her eyes fixed on Ram. He smiled immediately "Roger wont be a problem" he winked. " cool then its settled, we will leave in two days, I did all the reservations" Alex said "Baby, thank you so much" Kate told him "just want some time with you" he said casually.
After an hour Ram and Alex left. Ram promised Kate to that he would take good care of Alex in his home. Priya was able to notice Ram looking at her as they were ready to leave. Kate and Alex were in their own world telling good bye In their own way, thinking Ram and Priya were invisible. "So be ready for the trip we will have loads of fun" Ram told Priya. "yeah with you around I will be having fun" she said "I missed you today, so I was thinking about you the whole day" he said "oh really, didnt you have any work?" Priya asked smiling "no work bigger than this" he said "don't tell me big business people have nothing to do" she said "well, maybe when they are in love" he said "shut up Ram" she smiled. "shall we leave" Alex asked. "a day of interruption" Ram thought. "see you sweetheart, call me if you don't get sleep" Ram flew a kiss at Priya and left with Alex. Priya went straight to her bed totally drained of energy, and Kate was selecting dresses for the trip.
It was nearly midnight. Priyas phone rang in her ears. She answered the call "hello, whos this?" she asked half asleep "dr.Priya, this is Stefan, can I have a word with you" a rough voice came from other side.
