More than good readers. It's the lack of people willing to take risks of backing a story which is different. Even if a director likes a script but is unable to convince producers. It's a dead end. The industry is pretty similar to what they show in happy ending. Copy first half from some movie. Second half from another. I get the project needs to be commercially viable. But they honestly need to back more original ideas. What are we seeing these days-remake of this classic, purchased book rights of this book, biopic on this persons life. Where are their own ideas and stories. Meh.

Totally agree. BW lack god stories.
Main concern to look stylish and hot, movies fell flat.

Being writer is too difficult TBH. So many research need to be done in order to make it fresh, meaty, non compliance with plagiarism, repetative etc!! Of course in order to get this kind of script, a good pay is needed, a good time is needed to make it nuptured. Or else, the script also will appear in kind of thrash.
One more thing, the reader that valued the script, she/he also is not setting up for contribution of the graceful cinema! That person is measuring script in the producer company's POV. For commercialized and profitable script. As long as the director is not producer as well like ROM or VB, the creative issue always be concured by producer and the good script writer could wait forever okay. SEEMS like the wait of the writer will be longer as even Rom/VB/Raju is having their own team already..!

Purchased books /remake / biopic is still okay as long as you buy the copyright ..In Oscar itself has best original screenplay and best 'adapted' screenplay award separately. The growth of adapting movie from book and biopic is much acceptable rather than steal the idea without admittance..Not every filmmaker is brave enough to admit and thick facing the faces like Abbas Mustan or Anu Malik that keep stealing and plagiating materials.

First, TFS this!⭐️

Was following a discussion on this on twitter. One easy solution would be book adaptations! There is no dearth of good indian stories that could be made in great movies. Heck, if Hwood has resorted to this in the last few years, idk why India cant!

But not CB crappy stories please...😆
Would love to see Books like A suitable Boy adapted... I personally hope that BfB with Sonam will work, so they all can jump on that fad too. I have high hopes for Red Chillies productions too: looks like they might finally adapt the long overdue Zoya Factor soon ...😳🥳
