Growing pains

Little Ravan and little Prithviraj are just not growing up! Meanwhile the actors who're playing Ravan and Prithviraj Chauhan respectively in the two shows are still waiting for their turn on screen, almost a year after the launch of the shows

Narein Jha and Angad Bedi have been waiting to play Ravan and Prithviraj Chauhan respectively, on Zee TV, for almost a year now. The two shows were launched with much fanfare and both the actors were raring to have a go at their meaty lead roles. But they're still waiting. For, both these shows are still showing the childhood of these characters!
Narein Jha appeared on the show initially but the track soon went into flashback. Angad hasn't appeared at all on Prithviraj Chauhan even though he has shot for the show at length, and had to give up another show, Cook Na Kaho, for it.
The actors have no option but to wait while the kids finish playing on screen. Narein said, "I had to put all my energy into the role of Ravan so I am disappointed with the delay. But what can I say, at the end of the day it's the channel's decision. The TRPs were good when Ravan's childhood was shown so they decided to go ahead with it and show some more. Now, the time has come to show a grown-up Ravan. As an actor I had to wait for a long time but I had other options as well. I did two Telugu films down south."
Meanwhile, Angad Bedi has gone to England and is taking acting classes too. His mother, Mrs Bedi, said, "The production house had said that they would start shooting immediately but I believe the channel wants to continue with the little Prithviraj. The TRPs of the show are good. So they want to continue with the show for three to four years more years. Thus, all the actors now will have to wait for their turn, and till their roles are ready to be played out on screen. Angad had shot for the promos and was a part of the launch programme. Now it's up to the channel to decide when they want him to enter the show."
