Divyanka Tripathi distressed in Mumbai
Divyanka Tripathi, Vidya of Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, is having a hard time both in her reel and real life. Hailing from Bhopal, Divyanka is still struggling to learn the ways of Mumbai city, even though it has been almost a year since she landed here.
Her long cherished dream of buying a car came true a week ago, when she bought a Hyundai Verna. But as ill fate would have it, the very next day she found the rear windshield of her brand new car broken.

Her problems didn't end there as she found, much to her dismay, that even the music system was stolen from the vehicle. On top of it, she had to park her car on the street for she hadn't been allotted any parking space in her society building, Manish Apartment, Four Bungalows, Andheri (W). What's irking her most is the fact that in spite of the unfortunate incident with her car, she still hasn't been allocated any parking space.
When asked about this incident, she lamented, "The managing committee of the building did not help me with the parking issue. In the absence of any choice, I had to park my new car outside my apartment, that too after the rude shock I received earlier."
"Why didn't you go deep into matter?"
"Well, I don't have time to deal with these things. I'm working round the clock and on that particular day I had returned home at 4.a.m. I was so tired that I simply went off to sleep. I got to know about the damage to my car at around 7 a.m. when I was about to leave for the shoot again. At that point of time, I really missed my parents."
She shared some bad experiences owing to the monsoons. The Mumbai rains distressed her a lot, she says.
"I think it was on a Saturday when despite the red alert given by Met Department and a warning from my mother, I had to go for our shoot at Jeevan Mills, Sakinaka. I was a bit superstitious about taking my car, so I took a lift from one of the unit members. Somehow, we managed to reach the studio, only to find the studio gate 3 feet under water. It was quite a scary sight. Living alone in a city like Mumbai is quite tough, especially since I don't have any relatives I can contact during an emergency. During my early days when I used to travel late at night in auto rickshaws, I would get really nervous because the roads were confusing and the auto drivers used to misguide me and drive rashly. That's why I decided to buy my own car but the experience has turned out to be a bitter one. "
"What are the top 5 things you dislike the most about Mumbai?"
• Difficulty in finding locations
• Parking space problem
• Fast-paced life as compared to life in Bhopal
• No parental help
• The chaotic and restless temperament of the city
While on-screen, Divyanka is struggling to get her husband's love back, off-screen too she is quite the damsel in distress, hoping that she soon falls in love with Mumbai. And vice versa.
