Salman sulks over Akshay-Katrina’s hit pa

"Akshay and Katrina make a good pair and have been appreciated a lot by the audiences. But Salman isn't very happy about the set up… he has told Katrina about it too," he says, "She has told him that she can't help it as she is trying very hard to make her career."

The director of Welcome and Singh is King, Anees Bazmi, has rubbished the rumours and says none of this is true. According to Bazmi "Akshay and Salman are very good friends." Singh is King is a romantic comedy which will be shot abroad and will go on floors at the end of the year.

With their performance in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Namastey London, the duo is now considered to be one of the most bankable pairs in the industry. Our unit source says that pure economics at the box office show that it's the right decision for the two to sign up for the movie. "Basically Akshay and Katrina are a big hit with NRI audiences especially in UK and Europe. So it only makes sense for directors to take them on whether Salman likes it or not," adds the source.

Recently Salman was in the news for suggesting Katrina's name to his brother. It is believed that Khan has requested his brother, Sohail Khan, to replace Kareena Kapoor with Katrina Kaif in his upcoming movie My Punjabi Nikah. Many industry insiders suggest that Salman is looking to sign on movies that pair him with Katrina.

"Till date Katrina and Salman have only been paired in one film – Maine Pyaar Kyoo Kiya- and Salman would like to do more movies with the two of them together. And with Katrina being constantly paired opposite Akshay, directors know that this pair will work… but they aren't very sure about the off-screen couple being able to turn on the charm on-screen too!"
