Bang Bang promotion to go full on says Hritik!

The The actor, who had refused to promote his film on a TV show prior to its release, changes his stance.

He had reportedly deemed reality TV too puny a platform for his big-ticket release, but six days after Bang Bang hit the theatres, Hrithik Roshan will be promoting it on the show he had earlier turned down. Mirror has learnt that the actor shot for Bigg Boss 8 last evening, without the film's leading lady Katrina Kaif.

Hrithik's absence from the small screen had sparked a debate. One explanation was that no reality show would be able to match the scale of the film and the other theory suggested that Hrithik was taking a leaf out of Aamir Khan's book. Also, the film's director, Siddharth Anand, had told a section of the media that they didn't want to prescribe to the herd mentality and hard sell their film on TV.

Confirming Hrithik's volte face, a channel official, on condition of anonymity, told Mirror, "The broadcasters of the show had initially approached the film's producers but they were turned down. This time, the makers themselves initiated the talk."

Interestingly, Hrithik shot the episode on a working day, minus the show's host Salman Khan, who appears only on weekends. And Katrina was missing in action. Post its release, she hasn't been promoting the film as aggressively as her costar.

When contacted, her spokesperson informed that the actress is unwell. "She is down with viral infection and has hurt her leg too," was the explanation.
