Cvs r really sick n misogynist🤢😡. Nowadays, they hardly show a woman working professionally in d TV shows. Cvs truly hate n degrade women. In TV shows, they only show men as business tycoon n all while women r only shown as housewives who just cooks n romances wid men. D heroine in many shows always tells to hero humesha kaam kaam. Why did not women r shown working dat also while belonging to a middle class or rich families? They r giveing a wrong message to d society dat women can never work in office but only can be a housewife. Its very insulting n degrading to women. Times have changed now n its 21st century.

I hope cvs sud soon show women working professionally. In reality, if u see in trains then u see dat 6 out of 10 women works professionally n they wear jeans. But in d show, they give wrong messages by showing dat women r not supposed to work after marriage n sud wear only traditional clothes. Dis is shown in almost all d shows. They show dat why women sud work if d husband is rich? There is sumthn called like making ur own identity which cvs don't understand.

Its high time cvs sud show women working professionally. I mean on her own not wid male lead lead as d boss of d female lead which is shown in 3 out of 5 shows. I hate n am bored of male lead as d boss of d female lead. It shows dat women r always inferior n dumber than men. Why it can't ever be d other way round wid female lead as d boss of d male lead? Cvs sud learn sumthn 4m d new Airtel Video Calling ad where d wife is d boss of d husband. Its a very nice ad to show dat women can be better than men n its not necessary dat wen it comes to being professional then men sud always hv higher post than women. In 2000s, Sab TV show Yes Boss, d female lead was d boss of d male lead. Why can't they show now? Cvs r MCPs😡.

Wat r ur opinions abt dis issue?

res!
Will answer elaborately 😊

Unres!

Well you are right! in todays world the need of the hour is freedom for women.
The society is such that women need to be more serious in their outlook, and independent too.

For this mainly, the men need to change their outlook too.
Most of the CVs are men and they need to understand that more than Male chauvinists we need female fighters
Strong women are found in very few numbers nowadays!
Some serials have actresses who only sit at home and plot and scheme. Or all they can do is ruin others lives or taunt them over their success

Nowadays people dont look for cliche. They want fresh and new concepts. Especially since the majority of viewers are young, and female viewers are more in number, they like watching shows involving woman empowerment and i am talking REAL woman empowerment and not double standards!

This topic is such that one can go on debating
Nice topic @TM!

@Angel -- what is a cv??

Indian TV shows have a long way to go. Be it the direction, the acting, the pace of the story, the story ITSELF, the background music, the theme of a serial, the content, the dialogue, the screen-play, the costumes, the make-up, and the very setting of the story.
I'd suggest you to watch Pakistani serials... they are SIMPLY SO GOOD. I have begun watching this year, and now I understand why Pak serials werent telecasted here all these years 😆
OT - The projection of women, that is just one aspect. I can only say that the TV producers/directors do not essentially take the 'art' of directing seriously, they like our Bollywood directors wish to make easy money... perhaps. I wish TV shows are made in a better manner, in a way that portrays the real life with less drama, or atleast shows the better side of Indian way of life.
Directing or making a TV show is an opportunity to inspire, entertain, send good message - educate the viewers - the opportunity which the makers only exploit. TV shows should also be made with a sense of social responsibility, because it is one medium with reaches masses in every corner of the country(yeah, people in villages who may not have a toilet, and have a TV prefer to watch serials over news).
Sometimes, I just sit there and feel 'what a criminal wastage of money'. But, anyways, it is also employing large no. of people. And there are also large number of people who follow these silly serials religiously.
All in all, Indian TV serials have a looong way to go. And Hindi serials are atleast... the way they are, you wouldn't want to know the quality of telugu serials.

Today, does one need to WATCH a serial for entire 30 minutes? 😆 Promos and 'Kal Dekhiye' would suffice to understand what the story is about, where it is going.. 😆
I've been watching TV serials since I was born, been exposed to all sorts of serials, the 'K' serials.. As of now, I dont follow any serial.
@bold --- I agree, that's the standard of our cvs, nothing can be done. Those shows still run because there are viewers to watch.
There was a serial I liked very much -- Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, it was a good one. And apart from that, I used to like Balika Vadhu, which has become unwatchable since an year or two.

Indian TV shows did have working women in serials like Udaan, Aarohan, Shapath, C.A.T.S, Astitva, Jassi Jaisi koi nahi. But it got ruined and stereotyped from 2000 with rise of saas bahu shows. And reduced women to housewives who barely had education or a life outside home. The current no 1 DABH has female as IPS officer but they still insert her in laws everywhere in her working life.
I think TRP system is flawed and few thousand TAMmeters cannot tell what public is watching. I refuse to believe that same public patronised shows like Udaan nearly 3 decades ago but now regressed and watch only saas bahu!

Even married couples and households are not like that as they show in serials!

TV needs to be more inclusive and diverse as it was till 2000.

There r hardly any serials where women works. Weneva d heroes who r heroines husbands talk abt business, women r only made to luk dumb, be introduced to their husband's friends n cook a delicious meal for foreign clients wid d heroines ending up making Indian meal impressing d clients even more. Dis happens in many serials. A serial introduced a heroine who is a NRI 4m New York wearing jeans n top hvng a degree in computer studies but even though being modern n highly educated she was never shown working neither before marriage nor after marriage. D maker of dat serial is a woman herself but still she shows very regressive content degrading women n showing them widout any self-respect. In another serial, a parallel heroine worked as a RJ n after marriage she was forced to leave her job cuz d male patriarch was MCP n even though her husband loved her a lot he cud not stand for her before his regressive father.

Its mostly the sit at home women that get the time to follow these soaps. working women would hardly have the time to bother about the saas bahu serials. I think it is natural for any profit desiring producer or CV to target a regular audience.

Very true. I wonder where the makers of shows like Aarohan and where are those viewers who appreciated such shows ?

Interestingly we have quite some number of women in the TV industry itself. Not only actresses but also creatives. We have PH run by women but still they stick to the old age mentality where the women of the house irrespective of their educational and family background serve teas to the men in the morning.

Remember Uttaran ? Iccha's Uttaran was about a girl who wanted to become someone who could not be arrested by the poilce. In other words she wanted to achieve something in life. Ultimately all she could achieve was marrying a Thakur scion.

What about Anandi ? She studied hard and became the sarpanch and hten got married to solve marital problems. WHy do we need the woman marry a rich guy to say she is successful ? Why can't she simply be an IAS officer herself ?

Same goes for Afsar bitiya and many other such shows.

Star plus anthem, ' Tu hi tu' was to show how the same woman was Laxmi and Durga at the same time. Its sad to know the channel failed severely to portray what they promised. Its all about serving food to the family members. Solving sister in laws problems and appreciating their cold behavior. This is what a woman is suppose to do all her life.

Its time we bring shows for limited time and they run as per the original script. Let the TRP system be thrown out of the window.
