Since everyone else is predicting DK's conversation before the wedding festivities start, I thought I'd try my hand at it...just my version on what should take place when DK finally talk. Bare w/ me...I'm not good at all at FF writing, so this is just an effort. 😛
Dev goes to Kaajjal's room, to find her standing by the window staring up at the night sky. She is lost in deep thought over the recent turn of events, and doesn't hear him come in. He takes heavy, determined steps towards her, coming to a stop just inches behind her, and places his hand on her shoulder. She gasps as his touch sends electric shocks through her body. Slowly, she turns to face him, but can't bring herself to lift her eyes, and look at him.
"Kaajjal?" His voice escapes in a desperate whisper.
She lifts her wet gaze to meet his. He lifts his hand and gently cups her face, his eyes locked on hers, as if silently pleading with her: "No tears." She looks at him now, and sees the pain in his eyes, a pain that conveys the sheer agony he's been through…a pain, accompanied with overwhelming love, and desire for her.
Kaajjal: "Mujhe maaf kar do, Dev. Maine tumhe kitna dard diya hai."
Dev: "Nahi Kaajjal, tumhe maafi mangne ki koi zaroorat nahi. Tum toh apna farz nibhane ja rahi thi. Tumhare uss failse mein, main hamesha tumhare saath tha. Tumhe khone ka dard tha, lekin mein janta tha, ke vahi meri galatiyon ki saza hogi."
Kaajjal: "Dev…"
Dev: "Kaajjal, tumhe maafi mange ki koi zaroorat nahi, kyounki mujhe tumse koi gila nahi. Par kya tum mujhe kabhi maaf kar paaogi? Maine tumhe galat samjha, tumhe itna zaleel kiya…"
Her hand flies to his mouth: "Nahi Dev, galat toh maine tumhe samjha tha…doshi toh main hoon ki apne pyaar ko pehchaan na payee…aur aaj meri wajay se hi nayantara aunty…"
Her words cut off as emotion took over…unable to look at him with this guilt, she turns her gaze to the floor, as the tears flow.
The mention of NT Mom brings tears to Dev's eyes as well. He slowly lifts his hand to her chin, and raises her gaze to meet his. Slowly, he wipes away her tears.
"Nahi Kaajjal. Mom ke maut ki wajay tum nahi thi." He says as she looks at him in utter disbelief.
"Haan Kaajjal – yehi sach hai. Sach hai ki maine tumpe galat ilzaam lagaya. Tumhe doshi tehraya jab tumhara koi kasoor hi nahi tha. Kaajjal, mom ko Karan ne mara hai…tumne nahin...tumne nahin." He says, gently caressing her face.
Her head reeling from all the information he had just revealed to her, unable to hold herself up any longer, she crushes herself against him, using him as her pillar of support, and lets the tears come, unshielded, and in the solace of his strength, she finally allows herself to shed tears for the woman that had been like a mother to her. Dev gently holds her for a long while until the sobs dissolve into small whimpers, understanding that she needs to just let it all out. Once her tears have calmed, he slowly pulls away from her, cups her face in his hands, and gently wipes away the last of her tears. "Ab aur nahin Kaajjal. Mom aaj bhi hamare saath hi hai. Aur jaanti ho, voh to tumhe pehle se hi apni bahu maanti thi."
With this, a small smile returns to Kajjal's lips.
"Main tumhe hamesha is tarah khush dekhna chahta hoon Kaajjal. Lekin pehle mere liye jaanna bahut zaroori hai, ki…kya tum is shaadi se khush ho? Bahar sabne apna apna faisla suna diya, tumse bina pooche. Lekin mere liye tumhara faisla janna zaroori hai."
Her gaze meets his again, this time with a renewed love for this man, who has in every way, fulfilled her every dream, every desire. For her, he is the epitome of love a so devine. She moves her hands to cup his face, and locks her gaze with his.
Kaajjal: "Dev, meri har khushi tumse hai. Meri zindagi ki har umeed, har armaan tum ho. Meri saansein tumhare naam se shuru hoti hai, aur tumhare naam pe khatam. Tum jaisa pati paana mere liye saubhagya ki baat hogi, Dev. Tumhari patni ban kar meri zindagi ki har khwaish poori hogi. Main tumhari hoon Dev, aur sirf tumhari ho sakti hoon. Ab main jaanti hoon ke Aditya se shaadi karke main kitni badi galati karne jaa rahi thi. Tumhare bagair meri saasein toh chalti hai Dev, lekin mera jeene ka ehsaas sirf tumhare saath hota hai. Main tumhare bagair adhuri hoon Dev, aur tumse poori."
Dev: "Kaajjal, main kabhi soch bhi nahin sakta tha ke meri zindagi mein khushiyaan laut aa sakti hai. Meri zindagi mein sirf andhera hi tha. Lekin phir, tumne aake meri zindagi mein itne rang bhar diye ke gham ki koi jagay hi nahi rahi. Main tumhe bata nahi sakta tumne mujhe kitni khushiyaan di hai. Lekin ab, yehi khushiyan mein zindagi bhar ke liye tumhe dena chahta hoon, Kaajjal. Tumhare har din, har raat ko mein pyaar se bharna chahta hoon. Itna pyaar ke gham kabhi tumhare kareeb na aa sake."
With his outpour of emotion, Kaajjal throws her arms around him and crushes herself to him tightly. He returns her gesture by wrapping his strong arms tightly around her, hugging her as if she was his lifeline. "I love you, Kaajjal." A tear rolls down her cheek sighlently. Finally, she was in the arms of the man she loved more than life itself. At last, she was in heaven. "I love you too, Dev. I love you, too."
*Phew*
And now, I'd like to say to all the FF writers around here (Kashish, Sammy, Autumnji), HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?! My gosh that takes so much effort!!! Better you than me, but today, I respect you even more, and salute your talent and effort.
Anyway, just thought I'd let myself indulge in some DK romance today as the forum is brimming with romantic thoughts, and the heavy rainfall outside isn't helping my current state of mind! 😳
Love,
~Payal
