Adesh - do you understand tonal quality?

I was surprised and utterly dissapointed when Adesh Srivastava said that Saptaparna does not have a good tonal quality Does this man even understand what tonal quality is all about?🤢

Saptaparna has possibly one of the best tonal qualities in the entire show, and hers is a voice which is so melodious without being shrill... 👏 And she gets a 6 because she has a poor tonal quality!!

Salaam is a very tough song, and though not perfect Saptaparna surely did not sing to get a 6 and a 7 for the same! Yes, she was probably one beat away from the actual song, but then this is not a rhythmic song, and she adjusted perfectly to it everytime the new line started... she took all the hurkuts perfectly... whats wrong with Adesh, Jatin and Lalit...😡

Again - 3 cheers for Alka for the correct marking..👏. its her song, and she knows how tough it was to sing the same.. as she correctly pointed, there is hardl any space for 'saans' in the song, and Saptaparna never lost it... Those unfair 6s and 7s resulted in losing a very very talented singer from the show....😭

I think - it was a very poor and stupid justification given by Adesh for his crazy 6! I am extremely sad today!!😭

I dont know of the minute details as judges wud understand, but I was disappointed by Saptparna's performance today... No denying, her voice is very different and unique - almost unexpecting of her... But be it song selection, or watever - I dont think the elimination was unjustified... And this is wat happens when u are eliminating based on one song... I feel she was not the same as in Jiya Jale...

Respect your opinion Sachin... but I thought Saptaparna was very good with the song...... I really do not understand what Adesh or others found lacking.. Adesh himself said 'ki iski tayyari achhi hai aur gala abhut achha chata hai'... and she has probably one of the cleanest voices... As for the song, I thought she sang it in some of her own style without copying Alka note by note... Perhaps that is what Adesh did not like? (as he keeps insisting - follow the original singer!)

And I personally found an error in rating not just with Saptaparna but with Toshi also.. While Saptaparna got unreasonablt low scores, Toshi got unreasonably high ones! He could sing nowhere close to how Sharib had attempted it (forget the original) and all the judges (barring Alka) again went overboard with her... Alka again was bang on with him too....

Saptaparna wasn't the beat nor the worst. She has a beautiful and melodious voice. I agree, she doesn't sound shrill either. I never heard her audition song so I can't say if she was better or weaker today. I preferred her song over Ira's 'Baras'. Her performance and singing left no impact and I was shocked that the judges gave her such high points. The song lacked both energy and expression IMO. Aadesh's reason to give Saptaparna a six gets a thumbs down!

Toshi was disappointing (mainly cos we have such high expectations from him) but he didn't deserve to be eliminated today. Sounded like he started off key. I think he sang better in the later parts of the song than the start. BTW, Abhijeet's drama after the song was 🤢

Judges have a clear bias towards Toshi... Remember how Jatin had acted on stage during the auditions😕😆 Maybe for being Sharib's bro or for watever reason - they always over rate him...

Jaya is right on the fact that Saptaparna got over-slammed while Toshi deserves much less. However, Jaya, Saptaparna was not at her best today. She is not shrill but yesterday she sounded that way, and she might want to try the song just a little lower to get rid of that effect.

I would have loved to se Thoshi being eliminated today because he deserved it...... his was the second worst after sushim today........ 🤢

I agree with Abhi. And the arrogant attitude made his performance worse.

she has a nice voice but i think her elimination was justified. she was pleasant to listen to but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. i think aadesh is correct in saying that she needs some more time to improve it.

toshi....i was disappointed at first but i think he redeemed himself in the last half of the song. he has great potential and needs to be very careful in the songs that he picks so he is able to show that potential. also, expectations are very high for him....which i don't think is going to work in his favour much.
