Sunny Deol will be co-directing the next film to be produced under his home banner, Vijayeta Films. The yet untitled film is scheduled to go on floors by 2007 end. Sunny will be sharing the direction credits with Apne writer, Neeraj Pathak. Sunny had first tried his hands at direction with Dillagi co-starring younger brother, Bobby Deol and Urmila Matondkar but the film turned out to be a huge flop resulting in various financial problems for the Deol family.
The Apne writer tells us, "When I finished writing this film I requested Sunny to direct it as I felt he would be the right person to handle this subject apart from acting in it. But Sunny felt that it is me who should be directing this one. He told me that he would keep giving his suggestions throughout the making of the film. I thought that this would end up being the same situation like Anees Bazmi and Ajay Devgan when Devgan was acting and producing in Bazmi's Pyar To Hona Hi Tha. The Cash star was that time accused of ghost directing the project. So, I requested Sunny to keep his name as a co-director which he agreed to after a little initial apprehension."
Talking about this project Neeraj says, "It is going to be a romantic, musical, action with a very big budget. We have plans to shoot this project in three different countries with Sunny as the main lead. The main actress hasn't been finalised yet but we are looking at choosing one from amongst a few top names that we have short listed. We shall be bringing a famous International fight co-coordinator for it and the music of this film will be its highlight."
"Also in the meanwhile, I am launching my own film next month which will be co-produced by Krishan Choudhary with Sunny in the lead. This film will be a thriller. We are yet to decide on the rest of the star cast."
Sunny few days back had told us, "I am henceforth going to concentrate more on working mostly in my home productions and reduce working for outside producers. My plan is basically to do my own films. Over a period of time what I have actually realized is that if I can do what I want to do myself, then I rather do it myself than going out to do the same thing with others."
