INDORE: Trust Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) to do the unbelievable. The civic body has sent a notice to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and his script writer father Salim Khan's ancestral property address in the city for not paying water tax dues of Rs 5,990. The notice, sent at their ancestral property address in Old Palasia area, asks to pay outstanding water dues in a week's time.

Bollywood heartthrob, famous for his rippling muscles, was born in Indore and there is a property in his name besides properties of his relatives in Old Palasia area.

Deputy municipal commissioner MPS Arora said, "The civic body has sent notices to several people, including Salim and Salman Khan to pay outstanding water tax. '' The notice is not sent to target an individual. It was sent to properties with pending water tax as per record of civic body," he clarified.

The property with service number 20836121800151 in name of Salman and his father had pending water tax of Rs 23,929. BMC sources said. Of this, Rs 17,274 tax waiver was announced in IMC 2014-15 budget. The notice has been sent for outstanding due of Rs 5,990.

Arora said mayor Krishnamurari Moghe had announced waiving off part of pending water tax till 2012 with a rider. To avail the benefit, residents have to pay water tax from March 2012 till date before September 30, 2014. Under the scheme, the civic body had organized camps at zonal offices to collect water tax in past few days. IMC is issuing notices to those who have not yet paid tax as last reminder, he said.
