This doesn't make sense to me. It looks the CVs are forcefully trying to create a sibling bond between Dev and Payal in order make Dev/Nitya the only pairing possible.

How can that be? Calling one sister "sister" and the other not? It doesn't make much sense.

It is possible to love one but find other like a kid sister/brother. Nothing abnormal about it.

It happens in real life and is also an oft repeated theme in many Indian films.

LOL
Did you Indian culture says apart from your wife all women are to be treated as either sister or mother ?

It is very much in our holy books and scriptures.

This is how it is. Since he is Nitya's friend Payal automatically is like his sister. Sense or no sense but this is how it is in India . Anyways instead of male friend what if Nitya had a female friend ? Payal should have called her didi or she was suppose to call her by name only ?

Saali aadhi gharwali is a joke generally enjoyed during marriage celebrations. In literal sense it is neither practiced nor encouraged.

Most Indian religions teach to treat other woman as sister, daughter or mother (propriety depends on age). And other men as brothers, sons or fatherly figures. This is how culture is. Nothing weird about it.
School kids also call each other bhaiya or didi if not friend (yaar).

Since we live in such milieu it is not odd for us.

Not Mr Dev.

I apologise you, I make a mistake, you are right abt Payal call Dev 'bhayia'
because I watched EHI episode yesterday Dev said to doctor Payal is like as his young sister...
I think last July 24th EHI episode with english subtitle was wrong english! Because I'm deaf when I was 2...I would love be to lesson Urdu and Hindi language.
