err.. but according to one of the flashbacks that belonged to the original story line said she wanted to make a career first and therefore going after boys is just not her type. You know the cliched line Kisi ko nazar uthkar nahi dekhti

She was a career oriented girl as such she would not go after boys. Very unlikely of teenage girls. It was a flashback where we come to know that Payal was a bright student.
