As the once-loved show is coming to an end, it almost feels like the end of an ordeal for many viewers like me who kept in touch with the show and ranted, praised, criticized daily.
We all wanted that big deviation from the original. Some were cautious. The road ahead would be tough they said. But many didn't believe in that. We argued that Saras and Kumud not marrying would be so regressive and marriage brought a closure to their pain and also was in tune with changing times.
Makers for their part(I dont know who those writers were) put some very beautiful arguments from Saras(the zari metaphor, kandil metaphor and what not).
After the wedding actually happened, there were hardly any scenes that touched the heart. That had the intensity Saras n Kumud were identified with. I can remember few instances that touched my heart.
1. Saras crying at Danny's accusations(he delivered brilliant performances on those 2 days).
2. Saras-Kumud scene when Kumud gets ready to leave for her detective mission. Their best scene for me.
For the most part, Danny was the savior.
There were poor tracks, no consistency and lots of creative stupidity. They are not defensible from any angle.
The show ending next week is a relief. Atleast it will stop further degrading of characters we love so much.
