As the once-loved show is coming to an end, it almost feels like the end of an ordeal for many viewers like me who kept in touch with the show and ranted, praised, criticized daily.

We all wanted that big deviation from the original. Some were cautious. The road ahead would be tough they said. But many didn't believe in that. We argued that Saras and Kumud not marrying would be so regressive and marriage brought a closure to their pain and also was in tune with changing times.

Makers for their part(I dont know who those writers were) put some very beautiful arguments from Saras(the zari metaphor, kandil metaphor and what not).

After the wedding actually happened, there were hardly any scenes that touched the heart. That had the intensity Saras n Kumud were identified with. I can remember few instances that touched my heart.

1. Saras crying at Danny's accusations(he delivered brilliant performances on those 2 days).

2. Saras-Kumud scene when Kumud gets ready to leave for her detective mission. Their best scene for me.

For the most part, Danny was the savior.

There were poor tracks, no consistency and lots of creative stupidity. They are not defensible from any angle.

The show ending next week is a relief. Atleast it will stop further degrading of characters we love so much.

Well said Santhi. Yes we all wanted the marriage to happen, which was also so well done. Touching. The tears of joy when he put sindoor, the moti in the mangalsutra etc..
The writers proved those people right who said that in any serial the story stagnates after marriage of the leads. They could have been more creative in the after marriage tracks, but they screwed up big time.

Worst is now when they would've already known the end date of the show, they still introduced their stupidest track instead of focusing on just Saras and Kumud and happy times.

Like you said we praised them and cursed and ranted according to what was given to us.

Still feel sad that the show is ending. Will miss seeing Samud. I just read in YHM forum about a new promo with the time change. So guess many of us will be watching that at 7.30.

Excellent post from you Santhi

We had so so many expectations from this show,

It started out so well

A show which was a class apart

Had excellent visuals and creative sets

Fantastic dialogues

Talented ensemble cast

And a lead pair that was superlative in every possible way

And an excellent story, that has been loved for a century almost.

And yet they threw away all that

What a shame!
