Hi Fassben.
You spoiled me with the choice LOL.

But truthfully I want to see MR break the mould. Now whether that be in Bollywood or via telefilms it does not really matter.

As far as Soaps are concerned, I personally feel he has outgrown them. Especially considering the format and 'acting' style.

What I really want to see on TV is drama. I don't mean the 'serial' type drama which is almost completely saaa bahu fodder, but I mean real drama. Drama as in a concept or story that is seasonal. So a set number of episodes to conclude the story. Most successful shows go ahead and have another season, where most details of the characters and or relationships are explored but it need not be the case.

While I am not saying there shouldn't be any soap operas at all; heck here in the UK we have: EastEnders, Coronation street, Emmerdale to name but a few and in the US there is: The bold and beautiful, the young and restless, days of our lives etc. Australia has: Neighbours (which I absolutely loved once upon a time) and Home and away. So it's not the case that Soaps aren't watched. Most of these have been running for decades, but I feel that there is a lack of variety on TV. Especially coming from the Asian sub continent.

Now while we do have episodic drama's in Pakistan (I don;t need to name them I'm sure you've all heard of them) what is missing are the shows that are loved and adored worldwide like: House, The Good wife, Homeland and Revenge. The first was a medical show, the second focuses on a female lawyer while Homeland on security and Revenge: as it says on the tin; revenge of a woman out to prove her father innocence. Each of these shows have a strong character base and plot lines. Rather than focusing solely on one person (Although there are main characters ie House in House) the story telling is more complicated which allows for the actors to really stretch their talent.

Besides the episodic feature means that actors work for a specified period then go on Hiatus, during which they can work on other projects or even holiday. In that sense I feel the cast gets a break (Which is something soap opera stars crave) and have the opportunity to explore other avenues (Ie do films, theatre etc)

Well that's just a penny for my thoughts anyway.

I seemed to have gone completely overboard LOL. SORRY. I guess what I am trying to say in my really long round about way is that: I'd like to see Mishal acting in something like that. I don't think anyone would say no to him as a doctor in scrubs, or sitting as judge in a court room drama. :) Of course he could do all of that in films, which is why I suspect he wishes to do films and I wish him all the success in that, but I dunno I just feel it is about time we got a change in terms of TV.

If you look at Britain or America: TV now (well to me anyway) rivals Hollywood. It's no wonder we see movie stars now starring in their own tv shows (Matthew Mcconaughey- is one example.) SO why not Asia? In fact aren't Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachan doing just that now?

SO yeah time to revoluntionise TV and I feel MR should be at the heart of that! ;)

hello to all the forum members,
well in this case my opinon is firm . like always i have said that it is the "bollywood" in which i want to see mishal doing some magic. he has done tv & now it's time for rocking the films. from 2005, when he made his debut, he wanted to do films only; solely fims. i just want his dreams to get fulfilled anyhow , anyway.

it's not like that tv is less anyhow in terms with bw but all the superstars doing tv have made their mark as the bollywood actor, then why shouldn't mishal ?? after making a mark, then the bw suparstars r coming to tv world but at a same time doing films also. so mishl is also having this option also.we all know the fact, a bollywood actor is always a superrr star not a tv actor, the films may be not definately the best but the stogest medium for one to get fame not only in india but in the world. tv has also made it's remarkable touch but a film is a film.

if this wasn't had been the thruth , till now we would have been watching shahrukh khan in any soap opera not in the films.

so a film only is gonna do justice with mishal ; his absolute talent.

wll, good luck mishal 4 ur's next movie/telefilm on zee. luv u always.
