Sonam Kapoor to play Amrita Sher-Gil in biopic?

"Sonam will play Sher-Gil, an eminent painter of pre-independent India. The actress is in talks with the artist's family and work on her life story has already begun," a leading tabloid quoted its source.

Those who aren't familiar with this name, Amrita was one of the prominent painters of pre-independent India. She was born to a Punjabi father and Jewish mother in Budapest and stayed mostly in India and France. She died at the age of 29.

The film will revolve around Sher-Gil's family, friends, lovers and mentors.

Well, we hope Sonam will do justice to the role and will prove her as a serious actor.
