Priyanka Chopra is elated that her film 'Mary Kom' has been accepted by movie buffs. She doesn't want the pressure of Rs. 100 crore collection from the film.

"Mary Kom" witnessed an impressive opening and the film's lead actress Priyanka Chopra doesn't want the biopic to be pitted against biggies. She says that "our film is already successful", and hopes "it sets an example that even female centric films can do well".

When asked if she feels the film will enter Rs.100 crore club, she said: "Please! Don't put such pressure on us. Ours is a small film and don't compare us with big boys."

"Our film is already successful and I only hope that it sets an example that even female centric films can do well. I don't know what our destiny is, but I don't want to put such pressure on our film," said the actress who has won appreciation from all quarters for etching out the role of boxing champion M.C. Mary Kom convincingly on the big screen.

Directed by Omung Kumar, "Mary Kom" came out Sep 5 and till Tuesday it has collected Rs.38.95 crore at the box office. The film is reportedly going steady. However, there was dip on Monday owing to Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai, which makes for 40 percent of the total market share, said a source from the production house.

According to Priyanka Chopra, the film has "opened well and that is a huge relief for me. Now let's see how long does it sustain in the second week."

The actress, who has turned producer with "Madamji", which is being directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, says she is yet to understand the number game, but hopes to learn on the job.

She said: "I am a creative person and I get confused with the number game. I have a very strong team. Eventually when you make a film, it will be a learning experience."

Meanwhile, "Mary Kom" is riding ahead on positive word of mouth, and the makers are confident that since English language Bollywood entertainer "Finding Fanny" is a niche offering it may not eat up the box office share of "Mary Kom" when it hits the screens Friday.

when her drona's and rona's were bombing, this what said: yes i do cry on each friday when my movies bomb. i am sad as hell, but have to keep going.
its good to see that she is not living in some la la land...she tell as she feels...yes definitely one gets sad and teary when their movies bomb.
i also liked what she said during her promotion...of course i would like to be awarded, i ain't gonna bullshit and lie that i dont' want to. but only if my performance is worthy.
at least she says in open that she is hurt and crying that her movie bombed and she wants to be awarded. i know many actors/actresses, how they bullshit when they say, flops don't affect them. and how they don't care for awards.
come again...😆

BOMBED!!!!

Seriously?

The film had amazing weekend and has been steady throught weekdays! The fall was expected considering reviews are average and Monday is working day!
Keeping in mind the fact that MK is women centric film - the collections are good!
