Channel V has been pretty much successful to experiment and to stand on its feet after its revamp last year in November. By launching many youth oriented shows back to back, they have indeed attracted a lot of attention. Two of their shows Paanch and Sadda Haq have become a rage and of course channel drivers.

In order to keep the flow intact, Channel V launched yet another youth oriented drama on June 2014 called O'Gujariya (o'womaniya was the earlier title). The show's being produced by 4lions production house that has given soaps like Geet, Arjun, Surveen Guggal etc. So does their new outing impresses?

In Focus
Set in Jabalpur, O gujariya is a story about three girls Vaibhavi (Snehal Pandey), Natasha (Saanvi Talwar) and Ada (Neha Luthra) who come from various paths of life. They all become friends due to circumstances prevailing and how they deal with their issues form the rest of the story. The three main leads cast opposite to them are Apoorva Singh (Shaurya), Randeep Rai (Kabir) and Aakash Ahuja (Samar).

The concept is noble; there is no doubt on that. But somewhere down the line, it takes us on a same route that has been witnessed many times in soaps. Also Vaibhavi's character, a girl who returns to the same city and gets admitted to the same college to get justice for her father and prove him innocent, as he was falsely labelled as a traitor.

Doesn't that ring a bell in our minds? Remember that's a similar plot line to the 2006 TV show Left Right Left, the character of Naina Singh played by actress Priyanka Bassi.

Despite ignoring all the cliches, the show is somewhat intriguing but lacks the energy of a Youth oriented drama. Performance wise Snehal Pandey is decent. Sometimes she is very good, sometimes she goes over the top. Apoorva Singh is good as the restrained Shaurya. He has more potential than his character is offering. Saanvi Talwar is efficient as the feisty Natasha. Others are decent in their respective roles.

The show's start is somewhat slow and needs to pick up the pace. Also we come to know that the leading face Snehal Pandey has been suddenly replaced which can affect the viewership even more. Here's wishing the makers and the channel good luck in the awe of getting some major improvement in the storyline to keep the audiences hooked.

Rating 2.5/5

Couldn't agree more!

The article says cent per cent right. The theme is creditable but The cvs messed it up. They ran out of original track. In the beginning it was very impressive but the unwanted fillers that the cvs added have left it no where. Vaurya scenes could cover up the bridge but only as fillers, real story was still needs to be presented. Vaibhavi doesn't have that spark, Natash is unnecessarily foolish these days and Ada remains a despondent character. The show has diminished!

Another worst part is that because of crumbled storyline, actor's image is being hampered. There only mistake is that they chose a wrong debute for themselves.
