You have to eat something the man tells the lady. He hands over the food but there is no response from her. She is tired; physically and mentally. Her shoulders drooping, head bent, hair in disarray, she looks beleaguered and beaten. For the man, she is the sunshine of his life, the purpose of his existence but she would never believe him. For her he is the starting point of all her difficulties, the cause of misery to her family ... He hands over the phone; "call home", he says wearily.

"Di, someone called and informed everything that has happened over there. Sarla ma is very upset. Daddi has made her sleep", Purbi informed her. The lady sobbingly tells everything to the guy who was hovering over her.

The guy looks on, with a concerned look, his mind forming a plan. After so many months, the agile mind started to work with the cutting edge it was famous and respected for.

Back at Mehra mansion...

The Witches of East End...yes, that's the name for Tannu and Alliya that comes to Pragya's mind. They were busily smiling and congratulating each other. Pragya was astonished to see a smile on Alliya's face, then, it dawned to her that the only reason Alliya could be smiling is if she had accomplished something that would cause trouble for her babhi. Oh Mata! What has she conspired now. How could a lady who is upset that her marriage broke can also think on revenge. With jittery feeling, Pragya waits for the explosion to occur - impending doom.

Tring, tring... phone ringing sound could be heard...Daddi picks it up..."Pragya beta, there is call from Mr. Mehta for Abhi. Please ask Abhi to call him back", Daddi informs a forlorn looking Pragya. "Beta is something wrong, you look like a ghost", Daddi continues. "Daddi, there is something you need to know...", Pragya takes Daddi to the room and spills the beans about Bulbul and Purab. Leaving nothing out. "Daddi, please understand, Bulbul didn't know about Alliya and at no time she wanted to snatch Alliya's life. Even now, Purab dragged her away and I have full confidence that she will not break my trust. Bulbul will never marry Purab in secret", Pragya earnestly told Daddi. Daddi's shocked expression made Pragya eyes tear off. Pragya got up dejectedly. "Pragya wait", Daddi called her. "I have faith, Mata rani, will show us the path..."

Abhi walked in when the phone rang again. "Yes, Mehta ji?" He listened to the phone quietly for 5 minutes, then his face broke into a smile. He put the phone down and imparted the happy news to the waiting duo. "The CM would like to give me an award for being a good influence to the young generation thru music", Abhi beamed with happiness. Both Pragya and Daddi too heard his announcement. Pragya stood aside, while the 3 important ladies in Abhi's life embraced Abhi. "Pragya beta, aren't going to congratulate your pati? Tannu, you can let go of Abhi's neck. It's not a clothes line for you to hang yourself on. Give a chance to his wife to be close to him", Daddi smilingly with sarcasm points out to Tannu's close propinquity to Abhi. Pragya was in a dilemma. Abhi looked at her crossly. When Pragya stepped forward, the phone rang again; today the phone seems to be playing a major conduit in their lives...

"It's for you", Alliya passed the phone to Pragya. "Di, please come to the City hospital, Sarla ma has had a heart attack", Purbi cried in the phone. The phone fell from Pragya's hands and Pragya crumbled down to the floor. Her worst fear was being played out in real. Daddi took the call and Purbi informed the details again. Daddi held Pragya and consoled her. Tring, Tring...God not again, Pragya prayed. What other news am I going to get... "Ah Mehtaji?" Again another 5 minutes of silence from Abhi's end. "What on earth are you saying? This can't be happening...", Abhi shouted in the phone. Then, he put the phone down and explained that someone had called up India Today magazine and informed that Abhi and Tannu were having an affair. There was a rumor that Tannu could be pregnant with Abhi's child. The magazine wanted to do an exclusive on this story and change its cover story for the week. The information had been passed to the CM's office the CM's assistant had called in to Mr. Mehta enquiring about the issue. There was a stunned silence in the room. Only Daddi was agitated at the claim she thought was inappropriate. Tannu in-fact felt happy ... FB : Tannu had called a reporter to inform him about Purab eloping with BB; she had asked the reporter to write a story portraying Alliya as the victim and Purab as the villain and BB as an unscrupulous woman.

Daddi wanted Abhi to repudiate the claim immediately. "Shouldn't babhiji go to her mother?", Alliya asked sweetly. Only then, did Pragya realize that Alliya and Tannu had a hand in Sarla ma's heart failure. She looked at them loathingly and without a word moved towards the entrance of the Mehra mansion. "Pragya, wait. Abhi and I are coming with you to the hospital", Daddi rushed after Pragya. All 3 arrived at the City Hospital, to be met by a barrage of paparazzi. Questions like bullets were being fired from all angles at the trio. Abhi steered the 2 ladies into the hospital without uttering a single word. In the hospital, Purbi, Puneet and Pragya's Daddi were standing looking worried as Sarla was not getting full medical attention. Sarla's breathing was very faint, breathing apparatus with oxygen was fixed on her; when she saw Abhi, she took out the apparatus and signaled him to come in. Abhi, Pragya and Daddi rushed in. "Ma!" Pragya exclaimed with tears. "Betaji, I'm sorry. We didn't know about Bulbul. Please do not penalize Pragya", Sarla ma rasped. "Sarla, don't worry. Pragya and Bulbul are not at fault for Purab's act", Daddi consoled Sarla. Abhi put the mask back on Sarla, held her hands and said "Sarla ma, don't worry about Pragya. She is my wife and will remain as my wife". Pragya raised stunned eyes to Abhi and he just looked at her with glittering eyes that promised retribution. Abhi went out to the hall, shouted at the doctors and obtained immediate response from the hospital administrative team. Sarla was taken to the operations theater.

While waiting outside the OT, a hospital admin staff came to confer with Abhi. Abhi dragged Pragya to the foyer of the hospital where there seemed to be a sea of reporters. Questions were flung at them. Abhi raised his hand, immediate quietness occurred. "I have a statement to make, listen to me before you raise questions", Abhi started off. "My wife and I are here because my mother like mother-in-law has been admitted due to heart attack. She is obtaining medical treatment. Both my wife and I would appreciate if this hospital is not made to look like a madhouse. There are many patients here and they do not need this media circus", Abhi quietly but strongly stated his concern. "I'll take 2 questions", he continued.

Reporter 1 : Is it true that you are having an affair with Tannu, the model?

Abhi : Tannu and I friends but Pragya is my wife.

Reporter 2 : So are you saying, the rumor about you, Tannu and her purported pregnancy is fallacious?

Abhi : You said it. The word is rumor. You can confirm about Tannu's so-called pregnancy to her, she is standing right behind you with my sister Alliya.

By now, Daddi had joined Abhi and Pragya. "Before you leave, please understand that Pragya is the bahu of Mehra kandan and she will remain so", Daddi asserted looking at Abhi for confirmation.

Abhi : You heard my daddi. No more questions. Please disperse.

Everyone left the compound. The trio went back in the hospital to join the Arora family and continue with their vigil on Sarla. Tannu and Alliya were left looking ashen. Tannu couldn't believe all her well laid plans had gone astray ...How could this have happened...

Tring, tring...another phone call. This time not at Mehra mansion but at the road area where the earlier couple were sitting despondently . The guy picked up the phone..."Everything is cleared; Rockstar Abhi will continue with his marriage, he proclaimed it to the media. Thanks for the tip", a voice could be heard telling the guy. "Bulbul, stop worrying. Pragya Di's marriage is saved. Will you please eat?" Purab questioned an astonished looking Bulbul.
