14 maids all in a row - Heyy Baby song

Director Sajid Khan shot a song costing over Rs 2 crore for his directorial debut, Heyy Babyy! Says producer Sajid Nadiadwala, "It's the most expensive song I've ever done.

It's Sajid's concept, and we've used 14 actresses. It's set in a nightclub in Sydney (Aus-tralia), but was shot in Filmistan over a week."

Sajid Khan says the 14 actresses did the song for free. "It was choreographed by my sister Farah and is the title track (composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy).

The idea came about when we were discussing how to show Akshay (Kumar), Fardeen (Khan) and Riteish's (Deshmukh) debauched lifestyles.

Akshay plays the manager of a nightclub, and we were to use models and dancers for the song. Then it struck me that I have so many actress friends, so why not ask them to be part of the song? All of them came, except Ayesha Takia, because she missed her flight!"

Farah says it was great fun shooting for her brother's film. "I'll be choreographing another item number on the three leading men as well.

Sajid had a blast while shooting for the title track and suddenly became the costume consultant! He and screenplay writer Milap Jhaveri would personally visit every actress's van and check out their outfits!"
"Not true!" protests Sajid.

Picture imperfect

Sajid recounts a funny incident while shooting the title track. "Akshay, Fardeen and Riteish were all wired down as it was a special effects sequence. Action director Mahindra Verma and his team were working on the stunts when the camera conked off!

I left everything and stood with my heroes, cracking jokes and gossiping so that they wouldn't grumble, but Fardeen caught on and said, "Don't try to take the pain away, because it's not really working!"
