Taani gets there ASAP and then with a lot of difficulty she carries all the things to the lobby and then up the elevator. As the elevator door opens, Taani is momentary stun by the view. On both sides of the elevator's door, there were two huge vases with beautiful white lilies. Up ahead, there was a big black iron door which was half open behind that door is the main door. There were two maids who were standing on either side of the door. There were two more huge white vases on either side of the door. Unsure what to say, Taani wets her lips and says, "Um, I'm from GN Fashion." Both the maids come forward and takes the things from her with a simple thanks. Without another word, they carry the things inside. For few minutes, Taani just stands there and checks the lobby seeing the luxurious doors and intricate vases with flowers.
At that same exact moment, somebody was checking her out and her expressions from the camera above the door from inside. It's a beautiful women with short hair, fair skin and very little makeup and bright red lipstick. She smirks as she notices her checking out the hallway in awe. As she looks at her, she remembers back when she was in high school, she and Taani went to the same art school. At that time, she stole Taani's boyfriend and made him do a portrait for her for a contest. Taani had also entered the same contest and recognized it as her ex-boyfriend's work, even though it had Ria Kapoor's name on it. When confronted, she told Taani, "I'll continue asking my boyfriend to do artwork for her until she beats Taani(as she still got 2nd place even after cheating), even if it's not by my own hand. My talent is in getting others to do things for me." she said shamelessly without realizing that it made her look like a total bit** to the entire class.
Ria comes out of the flashback and laughs as she appraise the things that Taani bought. She talks to herself in her mind, "Taani, you may have beaten me in everything back in school, but now, I get to lord over you because I am the wife of GN Fashion President, and you are a mere errand girl." With a smug look, she recalls how she told her husband to hire Taani though she completely failed the interview just to make her an errand girl for herself. Putting painting on the table, she walks away with a smirk.
Alevora Korea Headquarters...
The driver, who just had an accident with Taani, arrives at his work place. As soon as he parks his car, a man, in suit and tie, runs to open his door. As the driver gets out, he buttons his suit. Then after tucking his hands in his pants pocket and he walks towards the building. Upon close inspection of the car, the man ask as he walks behind the driver, "Chairman, did you get into an accident?" "Put Attorney Kim on it," the man answered brusquely.
"Is there problem with settlement?" the other man questions. "No, insurance fraud," the Chairman replied. "What?" the man exclaimed. Chairman stops explains, "I don't like to be used for plucking money out." He turns towards him and concludes, "So get ready for it beforehand." He finishes and walks inside the building. The other man nods.
As the Chairman walk ahead, the other man quick jogs to catch up. As he comes behind him, he informs the Chairman, "Chairman Raj Malik of Royal Group is here." The Chairman stops in midway. "Really?" he asks with no interest. The man affirms. A small smile breaks in Chairman's face with sparkle of mischief in his eyes. As the Chairman and the man, apparently his secretary Moon, walks through hallways to get to the Chairman's cabin. People bow down to greet and is awe with him.
As walks ahead, three girls stay behind talking about him. One of them is Aditi, Taani's friend. She works in Alevora. "Omo(OMG in Korean), he's the Chairman?" one girl exclaimed with a gasp. Aditi adds pointing to his behind, "His look from the rear is like art." The third girls agrees in glee and then adds, "They say he's the youngest ever." Aditi questions, "How old do you think he is?" But then the third girl ask again in wonder, "But is he really Korean?" "His name is Reyansh Singhania. Its a Indian name but he came from Paris. What's with that?" The second girl wonder. Then she sighs, "Except for his name, I know nothing." Then looking at Aditi, she adds, "Aditi, do you know anything? Share a little, huh?" The two girls persist Aditi to cough up some details but she walks away smugly saying, "I think you'll be more depressed if I did, so I won't."
As she walks away, she passes by a guy with short hair in black jacket and grim expressions. She nods at him of acknowledgement as he is Taani's boyfriend, Shivam Dutta. He nods back and walks away. As he walking, he gets a text. He stops pull his phone out. It's a text from Princess Taani where she tells him how her first day was a wreck and asks if he will console her. With one glance on the screen, he puts the phone back in pocket without any reply and walks away.
Conference Room...
Reyansh walks in the conference room with Secretary Moon. The conference room is empty except for one man. He is probably in his late 50s to early 60s. Wearing a three-piece black suit and a red tie with a white shirt, he doesn't look that old. He is shaved and wearing spectacles for his impaired vision. He has grim expression on his face as if not happy to be here. Reyansh looks at him as he sits there looking a head. Secretary Moon introduces motioning towards the sitting man, "This is Chairman Raj Malik of Royal Group." Reyansh looks up taking a deep breath and letting it go, then speaks, "Alovera Korea's Chairman... Reyansh Singhania," he introduces himself and forwards his hand for a handshake with a smile.
Raj Malik gets up and after strengthening his suit he moves his head to Reyansh's for a handshake but waits for Reyansh to reach out and holds his head but Reyansh pulls it back with a smirk. The man looks pissed as he drops his hand. "We will not be entering Royal Department Store," Reyansh inform insincerely."We, Alovera, don't enter regressive(shabby) department stores," Reyansh insults him with a smile. Raj's mouth turn into a 'o'. He looks furious. Reyansh continues as Secretary Moon takes a deep breath and controls himself, "I heard you are third in this industry.." before he can continue Secretary Moon interrupts, "Umm, Chairman," he says unsure. "Secretary Moon, you may go out to tend to work," Reyansh brusquely answered with a side glance. Though Secretary tries to interrupt again but is stopped with Reyansh's firm words, "Tend to work, I said," On that note, Secretary Moon nods and walks out the conference room.
Reyansh turns his attention back to Raj Malik. "Even though we are third in the industry," Raj starts looking down,"our debut sales expansion rate of last year," clearing his throat he continues as if difficult to talk, "is #1 in the industry," he finishes pointing at Reyash. Reyansh just smirks looking at him, unaffected. "The progress potential is..." before he can continue Reyansh interrupts, "Come back after you've progressed." he answered curtly. "Then I'll reconsider," he adds with a big smile. Raj clears his throat as if he didn't listen to him and after picking some documents from the table, he continues, "We'll be putting our department store in Cheongdam-dong and Myeong-dong and ..." Reyansh interrupts again, "Yes, come back after all is built," he said smugly.
Raj slams the files on the table and exclaims, "You little rasc*l! Then why did you tell me to come?," he question incredulous. Reyansh merely smiles and questions calmly, "Weren't you the one who insisted on coming?" "What? You... Hey, punk. Are you giving me a chop right now? I'm your dad, you rasc*l!" Raj exclaimed furiously. Reyansh smiles, "You chopped me first, as your son. You even came and got me to sign a contract giving up a claim to any inheritance." Reyansh continues calmly, "for the reason of not studying business management in the US and studying art in France instead. For dumping the women set up for me since I was 15 years old. Because I said I would live with the woman I love," he clarifies his reasons.
"So? Then this is your revenge right now?" Raj barked. "Yes, it is my revenge." Reyansh confirms with a smile. Raj mouth is left open. "You thought I couldn't do anything without you, Father, right?" Reyansh questions. Raj looks away controlling himself and mumbles an alright. After finding his voice, Raj continues, "I see that you're hurt because I said to forgo the inheritance. The inheritance..." Reyansh interrupts him once again, "Yes, give me the inheritance... I will donate the entire amount to society right away. I joined the socialist party in France" Reyansh said with a smile. When Raj doesn't say anything, Reyansh continues. "I'm not the old Reyansh Malik anymore. I'm the Chairman of Alovera Korea, Reyansh Singhania. Singhania." Reyansh states himself.
"No matter what, you're an offspring of the Malik line," Raj says as if stating another fact. Chairman growls that Reyansh is not manly enough, being petty with his grudges and totally, emotional. While Reyansh smiles brightly as it doesn't matter because Chairman Malik will be on the suffering end of Reyansh's grudge. As soon as Chairman Malik leaves, Reyansh sits in his executive chair, and spins around like a little kid, "WEEE!!!"
Evening, Cafe...
That evening, Taani goes to meet her boyfriend in a cafe, wailing over her bad luck on her first full day at work. Shivam quietly hands her an Alovera shopping bag. Inside is a very expensive handbag. Taani smiles wistfully; it's approximately $6,500 in Korea, but approximately $4,750 in Europe. "Because it's slightly cheaper abroad even with the import tax, my friends would go to Europe to buy Artemis bags, even though in the end they would cost more when the airfare and hotel are added in," Taani sighed thinking about it.
This bag is worth more than either of their salaries, so Taani asks Shivam how he did he buy it. She wants him to return it and get a full refund, since he could use that money in other ways. He quietly says, "this will be my last gift to her, and... I want to break up." Taani sighs deeply as this was not the first time they were having this conversation.
Taani wants a really good reason why he wants to break up now. She questions him, "Is it because of your sick mother?" "No - it's because I'm too poor for you," he replied honestly looking away. He tells her to wake up to reality. She's working in fashion; she cannot afford to wear such cheap clothing because image is everything. She used to wear luxury items but ever since she started dating him, her clothes became cheaper and shabbier. On top of that, he could never afford to buy her nice things to show off. If the two were to get married, they would also end up in debt because of all the expenses they'd have. He wants her to meet a wealthy guy, because that's really the only way she can succeed in this industry. Saying this, Shivam left. Taani sits there for a while as she is pissed at Shivam for talking like this but eventually she sighs and leaves also.
Taani goes to meet Aditi. Aditi is happy for her though. Not only did Taani get a bag out of the relationship, but she finally ended it with Shivam. "He was just an added burden to your career!" Aditi explains. "And reject him if he comes crawling back to her. ok?" Aditi sternly told her. But Taani payed no heed as she actually does love Shivam and had hoped they could work it out.
Reyansh's flat...
Meanwhile, Seung-jo is swaddled up in his fur blanket, watching a replay of his father's reaction on his tablet. Guess he filmed their entire conversation for added satisfaction. He completely enjoys seeing his father's angry expression. "Ahh, I can feel it healing." Reyansh said a loud as his laughter died down. "The petty way is the best way! Ahh, now I feel like I can live." Reyansh said looking down on his tablet screen which was paused on his Dad's face with furious expressions and starts laughing once again.
"What is the best?" a man said as he comes by with some drinks. He is tall and lean and very good-looking. He is almost Reyansh's age. He has black bangs across his forehead. "You came?" Reyansh calls out as he turns around to look at his friend. "You were laughing so hard. What are you watching?" the man said as he sat down on the opposite couch of Reyansh. Reyansh hands him the tablet to watch with a big smile. "Whoa, you really did it?" he asks Reyansh as he continues to watch the video. "To your father?" he asks incredulous, not believing Reyansh actually did it. "What father? I did it to the Royal Group's Chairman." Reyansh's voice small as he replied almost unsure. His friend puts the tablet down and gave Reyansh the eye look that says "For real?".
"Psycho. A wacko with an IQ of 40. Childish fool." The man says pointing his finger at Reyansh as he squint his eyes. "Did you really have to do this way?" he asks. "And what was it when you said I needed "healing"?" Reyansh counter back. "And the really childish stuff, hasn't even begun, Swayum." Reyansh said dangerously. He slams a picture of a girl on the table between them. On close inspection, Swayum gasps, "Ria Kapoor?" Ria is wearing a white dress in a church with a bouquet of white carnations in her hand. "She became the wife of GN Fashion's President." Reyansh tells Swayum quietly as walks across the room and draws the curtains open of the big living room windows.
