I've thought about saras/gr's appearance n can say that I saw many people who look fresh all the time in real life. They can never look dirty. Its just how they are. And defines their character. And saras looks pale when needed. Like in gau-hatya track and in kumud's marriage to Pramad track(initial days). I think the only time this looked out of place was when he was on the stretcher with some blood only on the pillow.

Santhi, I think in the case of an actor playing out different scenarios, it's a bit like Caesar's wife - not only do you have to play the part, but also look the part, complete with relatable "messed-up" appearance when the situation calls for it... I think that is what lal04 is talking about...

That is what i am saying. Earlier, I too thought he always looks clean. But thought about it and looked back. He looked messy when he was devasted by guman's letter fiasco after karwa chauth. And in other instances when needed. But he is neat in general. And that is what making us think he doesn't look messed up. Like other male characters. They look the same 99% of the time. Danny sometimes has a stubble. And Kabir has too much hair. Saras doesn't have these. He looks brighter, fitter. That's just his character.

I'm sorry I am unable to convey what I want to. But I have seen people like him.

That's the point, When he is playing a role, he has to look like the character would be expected to look - the norm not the exception - as in most people would look a bit off-colour if they had been hit up with a crowbar, so that would be the norm - although the exceptional person may still look like he stepped out of talc ad, like say, GR...😆

I understand he is not fitting the norm but that trait fits saras well. always clean n tidy. He got dirty many a time. Thats just my opinion.

@pasumarthisa santhiji, yes happyji was right. That's what I had meant (rather funnily). And You are right. There are many people we chance upon in real life look clean, fresh and tidy and want to carry on that way even when relaxing at home. But the same is not applicable to an actor when he or she plays a role in a drama. Apart from portraying it rightly they need to 'look' every inch the character. When they play a character they need to adapt to the conditions in all respects. The act or instance of appearing is essential for an actor while enacting a role. His looks should reflect the mindset of characters and the circumstances or situations he is subjected to. Only then the audience would be able to relate to the character in the right perspective. While playing a scene how he dress up is equally important as how he emotes or how he sounds. Normal people who are habitually neat and clean can maintain it to a maximum degree in their life, but not drama characters. Saras may be good looking and a 'neat freak' like GR. But his life situations are in stark contrast to that of the actor. When he faces stormy situations and near death experiences and when he feels edgy and unsettled his outward appearance too should fit in with the context to achieve the 'connect' and to give a realistic feel. But in most of the above mentioned conditions he has carried only fresh, shining looks which is quite inappropriate imo. As you rightly said he was looking disheveled in that crucial dubai scene. (I don't exactly remember his looks in the initial days in pramad's house). Yes, he has looked visibly pale in some profound and serious scenes. But these instances are few and far between. The exception is when he cries in an emotionally charged scene he exactly looks the part. (Infact his eyes, nose, mouth-all will shed tears). Otherwise mostly no. The whole of prashant kidnap sequence (manhandled, badly beaten), recent hospital scenes especially in that imaginary convo with kumud, London bomb scene, 'mujra house' sequence, LN coma scenes, current pagal ma track and many more in the past. We fans always root for his performance, he too gives it 100%. He effectively portrays a distraught man, but not 'looks' like one. In a nutshell when he plays the part he must look the part. This doesn't matter in daily soaps. GR needs to set this right if he seeks greener pastures. Also now our sundari's new avatar totally disconnects her from her original self. (Maybe her case is 'dress the part'). Dress/look/act the part is the norm expected of an actor. Thank you.

@lal04 I agree. I was the one who raked up this issue when he was hospital(add those prashant scenes). But those are just few instances.
He got dirty when dirt was thrown on him😆 Even when he sweats profusely, he looks good. Bechara.😆

And in the show, he is either angry, sweats profusely or cries. And looks apt in those scenes.
