Speculations were rife about the project that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will finally choose as her comeback film, post the birth of her daughter Aaradhya.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2010 film, Guzaarish. But, the rumour mills have now been put to rest, as it is confirmed that she will be making her comeback with director Sanjay Gupta's action thriller, Jazbaa. Sanjay Gupta confirmed the news and said, "Yes, it's true. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the dynamic female lead in my action thriller, Jazbaa."

According to Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa is a complete performance based film. Aishwarya will be seen essaying the role of the lead protagonist. When asked about his decision to cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film, Gupta said, "The female lead's character is the hero of my film. The role is extremely powerful and the project couldn't have taken off with just about anyone. It required a larger-than-life brand, a big personality and no one can fit the bill better than Aishwarya. She fits the requirements of the character perfectly." The actress will be seen doing some strenuous action-packed stunts for which she will soon undergo special training. Gupta mentioned that it won't be anything hardcore but the sessions will help her achieve a fitter look."

As Jazbaa is set in modern day Mumbai, it will be shot across the city. It is slated go on the floors in January 2015 after Gupta wraps up Mumbai Saga, which kicks off in August.

Sonakshi Sinha in AR Murugadoss' next action movie

Tuesday, 10 June 2014 - 1:31pm IST | Agency

After working together in 'Holiday', 'Ghajini' director AR Murugadoss are teaming up again for a woman-centric action drama, being produced by Fox Star Studios. The untitled film will go on floors in November and will be completed within three months.

The action-oriented drama revolves around Sonakshi's character and will see her to attend a 30-day workshop prior to the shoot. Sonakshi will be seen playing a college student in this film and most of her action scenes will be based on the Indian martial arts tradition from Kerala.

"I have a great working relationship with the production house and I'm excited to collaborate on a Bollywood project with them. My film with Sonakshi is based on a story which is close to my heart and has a very personal and powerful message for all Indian women," Murugadoss said in a statement. The director said Sonakshi's role will be on the lines of what Angelina Jolie did in 'Lara Croft'.

"Murugadoss is a superb storyteller who makes entertaining films which have a pan-Indian appeal. He is the only director whose films have been consistently successful in three language--Tamil, Telugu and Hindi," said Aalif Surti, Chief Creative Officer, Fox Star Studios, India.

AR's film. They're describing it as along the lines of Lara Croft which would be just wow to witness in BW and it's being done by Sona ⭐️

IF: Sonakshi's; Lootera fever 😆

Reality: Aishwarya's Jazbaa.

Considering Aish is the most hated actress in IF, so Sonakshi will win over her in IF easily. But in Reality, Sonakshi has NO star power. Prove? -Lootera is a Flop 😆

I have not hopes about Ash's movie! I think murgdoss is a good director going by his previous movies but still not sure about Sona doing action. Hopefully it's more thriller, regular girl kind of movie.
