Ranveer Singh halves his price for Bajirao Mastani
Actors making concession in their remuneration to accommodate a film project is not something new. Recently it was reported that Shahid Kapoor had agreed to do Vishal Bhardwaj's forthcoming film Haider for free because it was a big budget film and the actor did not want to burden the film with his own acting fees.
Now comes the news that Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela actor Ranveer Singh has also decided to take a cut in his remuneration for Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Bajirao Maastani.
Bajirao Mastani will once again bring Ranveer on the screen with lady love Deepika Padukone who will be starring with him.
Ajay Devgn recently cleared in an interview that Bhansali and he did not work on Bajirao Mastani because they did not agree on the terms and conditions, one of them being the actor's price.
According to a well-placed source the actor will be doing the film for half of his market price. When Ranveer learnt that the budget of Bajirao Mastani was gigantic, he agreed to make a concession for his favourite director. Goliyon Ki Rasleela was an important film in Ranveer's career, which changed people's and industry's perceptions about him. Ranveer is confident that Bajirao Mastani will propel his career further.
It may be added that Bajirao Mastani will once again bring Ranveer on the screen with lady love Deepika Padukone who will be starring with him. A little concession in your price is nothing when you compare it with the fact that you will get time to spend time with your loved one, courtesy work. Surely, Ranveer would agree!
