Personal privacy is a civil right when it comes to family members?

Personal space is something or not? Invading once privacy is how fair?

Am talking about adults here, who can make thier own decisions. 😊

It is one of the most important rights unfortunately most under-rated among several Indians.

Bang on 👏

In fact, the reverse seems to hold true here. Privacy, particularly in personal matters, seem to be detested, particularly the generation before ours. Asking for privacy seem to be anathema, doing the unthinkable... If something happens in a family, within the next 60 seconds, telephone wires across the city/ country/ world has to blaze and everyone informed, lest it be said that family is not "immediately" informed of whats happening in the others life... Those who wish to keep matters private are considered snobbish and aloof

Well, you do have mental and physical privacy. Sometimes, one learns the art of mental privacy and often that compensates for physical privacy, when space is a constraint.

Which is more Importend Mental ya Physical Privacy..? some time private emotion is potentially observable,The main criticism of Descartes here is the idea that thoughts can exist as mental events separate from the body.😊

If mental privacy exists, physical privacy or lack of it wont bother, thats my pov. I perceive mental privacy as being better, for me, in some circumstances.

No doubt, sometimes, private emotions do sneak out, despite best efforts to keep them private.. but in most circumstances, they sneak out only after prior warning... or prior insight ...

I completely agree and detest that.

If I may add if I sneezed more than normal number of times, the neighbour's son-in-law's step cousin's jijaji also must know what happened ad he needs to ring up to SHOW concern. Then we go ahead and brag about how neighbours are always there and are helpful and how people in the US don't know their neighbours. Well, as long as we lives among normal people, anywhere in the world, you will seek emergency help, even if you don't know how many pounds their daughter weighs, whether she wears hair color or not and how many boys visit their home on a regular basis as her friends 😆
There is a beauty in keeping neighbours and relatives at a certain distance they are designed to be at.. I see much less tension and much less HYPOCRACY in such relations rather than people mending other's business all the time! 😆
