Suhaag Raat - Opinions

Hi folks,

I am a self-proclaimed 'Balanced' individual and take pride in being the voice of reason and think that every coin has two coins, and every individual is multi-faceted. (If you talk to my hubby, you might get a different answer, but that's a different story😆).

I am not so egotistic to think I am the only person like this, and find many on the forum who are like me. We might be somewhat emotionally attached to certain individuals and certain themes of the story, but we want to see some 'reasonable' behavior in the show.

The show today reached a penultimate abyss today with people (of a supposedly rich and sophisticated family) debating the 'consummation night' and peeping into the privacy of bedrooms like voyeurs - I am shocked!

Who has taken over the direction, the story and the editing of this show? How are the actors agreeing to do this crap? Is there any self-respect left for the actors and actresses?

I understand this is just a serial and the story is fictional, but I am left with such distaste in my mouth today, I had to say something. THese kinds of posts always bring angst in me and I always used to feel 'get on with it, it's just a show' - but today was really something else. I completely empathize with all the posts that are going around these days, what seemed to be one happy and eager family forum, now is sad, angry, restless and disgusted.

Fine, I liked the itching powder (I am a juvenile at heart), I liked Pia falling at Bani's feet, I liked Jigs threatening and saying dire things to Bani and Bani responding with irreverence and revenge.

What I didn't like were - Jai discussing what he had to do with his family...Pia acting brazen and insistent on performing the act...the chachi/chacha, Jigs peeping into the bedroom, Dadi, Adi and Nattu eavesdropping on Jigs/Bani convos...finally the biggest thing that made me want to throw up was Jai acting like a sacrificial lamb and proceeding to perform the act.🤢 Not to forget AD asking this for this utterly atrocious act couple of days back...

Now, question for the reasonable people on the forum - which seem to be a high majority -

How can this be relayed to BT, Zee TV folks? How can this be relayed to Ekta and her team? Are the writers and directors don't have any self-respect in their work to write crap like this and shove it down to the so called 'Masses?' How can anyone take a $100 an hour to churn out absolute rubbish as worthwhile entertainment? Work hard for your money...think out of the box, put some effort - I feel like immature people are writing for the show now..

We might not understand the inside politics, if people/corporations are trying to sabotage each other, but we understand contempt for the audience when we see it. Please don't treat us like garbage, by showing us garbage!!

I watched the show during lunch and I see this emoticon repeatedly '' and it's me and you. Beaten, bruised for no fault of ours...😭

Farah, it's easier said than done, I think all our posts, letters and collective requests have been ignored, so I am not sure if any of our opinins are going to be honored.

The only way it will work is if Ekta or NB actually know how much this current track is distateful and they do something about it.

But the fact is that yes its disgusting and its not the first time. Everytime we let things go by in the name of entertainment and an individuals wisdom on selecting whats good or bad for them.

But the question is, does keeping quiet and avoiding the show makes any real difference? When one viewer leaves, another enters. The viewership is barely affected, especailly when the show is at a time when the whole family is either sitting around the dining table or in the living room.

Frankly I have some ideas of how to go about fixing this. Will PM to people interested (else PM me).

True, I think people can choose what is good or bad for them, but when 90/100 think it's weird and disgusting...then shows have a responsibility to cater for the majority!

I feel that eventually it catches up, the deteriorating viewership...the trps are already showing that.

Why don't you put your suggestions here, sweety, that way, any one who is interested in fixing will view it!!

Kassam Se seems to reach a deadlock and is going no where. Bani wants to take revenge from Jai, jai wants Bani happy, Pia wants Bani to be out of Walia House. Aparajit wants Bani back in his life.. Rano and Ranveer likes each other but the wife is back. Uff too much confusion.. I think we viewers will have to go to mental asylum now.

Very well written and seriously I have no expectations from KS at all now. I mean honestly what was shown yesterday was totally degrading and disgusting. JW is a person I no longer recognize...itna helpless and majboor Even a cornered animal will fight till its last breath...Munna gave up before the battle even began. How does this help or protect Bani? 😕 I honestly don't know where this show is headed, every time I think things can't get any worse...they do!
I've given up...honestly I have, for the sake of my own sanity!

Sheena, I'm surprised that a confident actor of RK's calibre is agreeing to enact this revolting trash on a daily basis. What kind of stranglehold does Ekta have over her cast that all concessions to decency are thrown out, and reasonably well educated, sensible people agree to show such immoral nonsense on a primetime family show. You are right about the contempt for the audience-- it has reached a point where one has to be brain dead not to realise that the opinions of her audience just does not matter to Ekta and NB. She's a big company and will carry on, but what about RK?? He emerged from the wilderness with the role of JW, and with all the recent non activity of the character, JW is deffo lost his iconic status. Don't think any awards will come the KS way this year.

I totally agree with you...the show is going from bad to worst and all the characters are making me puke...no character is proper...be it Bani or JW or AD or Jigs, now on the list Dadi and Adi 🤢


We need to do sth...except for trying to get media attention, i dont know what else to do..

Alternatively, we can file a case in the court against Bt and Zee for showing grossness in the name of entertainment but i am not sure if that is feasible... 😕

A very very well written post and outlines our collective sentiments and total disgust and disappointment!! This is what the czatina calls producing for the masses??? Which masses --- even the housewives of India have a sense of decorum and what was shown really did insult sensibilities and went beyond human decency!!!

Does the channel, BT or even the actors care???

Thats what surprised me the most that they would even consider to act out such trash!!! For what a paycheck!!! I am surprised, schocked and dissapointed that such fine actors as RK, Ash, PD etc even agreeed to this garbage!!!

As I have said since the AD ordering JW to "manao his suhaag raat with saliji" I believe there is a deliberate sabatoging of this serial. Someone has a vendetta against someone or something!!

PS Rivs, do post your suggestions on how to revive or bring back on track this serial would love to read your ideas which are going to be more sensible and creative than the current garbage we have been getting since the leap!!!
