The papers, statement of the case witnesses and the case diaries, were found in the office of an inspector. The police explained that the inspector's junior staff kept the paper in the room. The police stated that it was not deliberate act.
"However we are going to fix the responsibility of the persons in the incident in our inquiry report. There was no ulterior motive behind it. They handled the sensitive case paper with casual approach, so they should face action for their negligence," said an officer.
Meantime the police decided to request the government to appoint special public prosecutor in the case.
Original statement of the case witnesses and the original case diaries were missing and the defence had opposed the deposition of more witnesses until the original papers traced stating that the absence of the documents can prejudicial to Khan. A sessions court had asked the police to trace the missing papers.
