Malaika Arora was holidaying in Hong Kong with husband Arbaaz Khan and son Arhaan. She was at a concert show with Shah Rukh Khan in Cardiff. Then, she cruised the Nile for a 'live' show. Now she's back.
Whatever happened to the film you were doing with Arbaaz Khan?
It's happening. I'll be pairing up with Arbaaz for the first time. It's called 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' but I'm only doing a song with him. I wish it was a full-fledged role.
I'm also doing a song in the Anil Kapoor-Nana Patekar movie 'Welcome'. Plus, there are special appearances in Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om' and Sajid Khan's 'Hey Babby'.
What about 'Nach Baliye 3'?
Talks are on, hopefully it will start later this year.
Why have you restricted yourself to item numbers and cameos in the movies.. ever wondered why you aren't offered heroine roles?
(Thinks hard) I never think about such things. This year I did get offers for lead roles but I couldn't take them on. They didn't fit into my scheme of things.

What's your take on the recent spate of item numbers?
(Reluctantly) Some of them are really good.. others quite ridiculous.
How does the Khan family deal with controversies.. like the Salman Khan-Vivek Oberoi war.. Salman's court case?
There are hundreds of rumours floating around about our family at any point, but we can't go about clarifying them to every journalist.
Everyone knows that Salman Khan is a genuine person. Sometimes controversies irritate me.. but that's the price one has to pay for stardom. The Khan family seems to get defensive every time any kind of remark is passed about you. Like all other families, we stand by one another through thick and thin. It's not as much about being defensive as it is about standing up for what we believe in.
Arbaaz has been asked this question so often. Once, he very rightly said, "I don't go home thinking that I'll sleep next to Malaika." He loves me for what and who I am.You are a working mother. How do you strike a balance?
My priority is my home. I try to give it as much attention as possible. Arbaaz is very supportive. Arbaaz and I chip in the same amount of time for him. We ensure that one of us is around if the other one is out at work.
