12 A.Confessions of an arrogant boyfriend.
Saturday night-
"You are looking...hawwwttt!" was all aN awestruck Randhir managed to utter, though he knew it was an understatement- Sexy, enticing, alluring, seductive, tantaliZing, were more appropriate adjectives, but his mind could not really think of any, so spell bound he was looking at Sanyukta. Her shoulderless black colour one piece, that ended at her mid thigh, along with her stilettoes and open hair, were making her look perfect.
"Thank u!" She passed a smile, her heart pacing madly on seeing the way he was staring at her- seductively, passionately and yet, his eyes held respect for her. She walked past him, trying hard to not compliment him back- the black shirt along with a pair of blue jeans, and spiked hair, were giving him the perfect casual cum formal look.
"Kaha jaa rahi ho?" He asked, surprised to see her all ready to walk out, without him.
"Oh! Main bataana bhool gayi! Actually Parth is my date for the night..." A sugar coated smile was adhered to her face.
"What?!!" Randhir's eyes widened in shock. Parth. was. her. date? How? Why? Yes, he was not really behaving all normal with her after that
incident, there was this air of awkwardness persistent between them, but, he had not even imagined that would lead to this! The fact was, from the day he had confided in her, he was feeling so light and relaxed. He actually wanted to hug her, kiss her, and acknowledge how thankful he was to her, for listening him out, for being there for him. But his ego, Kabir and his own personal motives forced him not to do so. What if she questioned him further? Everything would become messy! And so he assumed, staying away was the best way out.
But there was no way he was going to let her go with that secretary of hers, in this attire.
"But...you and me.." Randhir fumbled with words, as he realised what actually he wanted to convey to her. Wasn't he always the one who consistently reminded her it was a mere physical relationship? Then why, suddenly, he was becoming soo possessive about her? He knew Parth was a great guy, and Sanyukta going with him, posed absolutely zero risk to her, but his heart was not at peace. He wanted her to be with him. And only him.
"I thought tum Vidhushi k saath jaa rahe hoge Randhir...I mean itne dinon se you both are gettin along really well!" Though Sanyukta desperately wanted it to sound like a taunt, it ended up sounding more like a hurt complain.
"She is not that bad Sanyukta...Just because tumhe woh achi nahi lagti, that doesnt mean even i should stop interacting with her!"
And he did it once again! Just like he had been doing it from the past few days- defending Vidhushi. He mentally kicked himself for letting his ego conquer his heart once again, though now that he had said it, he could not back off...
"See you at the venue with ur Parth!" He walked out of the room angrily, while Sanyukta stared at his retreating back. She could feel her eyes well up, and so she immediately shut them, attempting to control her tears.
"Dont. Let. Him. Affect. U. Sanyukta!" She composed herself.

"Oh my! They are such a sweet couple!" Mr.Malhotra was all praises for Sanyukta and Parth, who were swaying to a slow number. Randhir clenched his fists in anger upon hearing the compliment- his Sanyukta was dancing with that Parth.
"And the girl looks beautiful.." One of Mr.Malhotra's friend said, eyeing Sanyukta from top to bottom. Randhir felt this sudden urge to kick that man where it hurts the most, though he controlled his temper by breaking the glass he was holding, instead.
"Oh my god Randhir! Are u ok!" Vidhushi began wiping of the blood oozing out of his hand.
"M fine Vidhushi!" Randhir literally dragged her to the dance floor, and began swaying to the music, right besides Sanyukta and Parth, such that, Randhir and Sanyukta were on opposite sides. Sanyukta just faked a smile on seeing Randhirs hands on Vidhushi's waist- he was uncomfortable with the proximity they were sharing, and it was soo bloody evident.
But Randhir found his blood boiling on seeing the comfort level Sanyukta and Parth shared - His hands were wrapped around her waist, her hands around his neck. They were pretty close, just that their bodies were not touching. All Randhir wanted was to pull her away from Parth into his arms, though his ego, as always over shadowed his heart.
"Ok guys! Time to change partners..." The DJ declared, and everyone twirled their partners- Sanyukta landed in Randhir's arms. He roughly gripped her waist, his body pressing against hers, her hands around his neck. Sanyukta shut her eyes feeling giddy due to the
sensation the proximity was leading to. But she immediately opened them, on feeling Randhir's hand bleed.
"Ran..."
"I dont knw how it broke.." He answered like an innocent kid, even before she could ask him the question. Her eyes were burning in anger due to his carelessness, and for a moment Randhir actually felt scared.
"Be carefeul next time..." She softly replied, trying to compose herself.
"Dont u ever dance with anyone else!" Randhir's grip around her waist tightened, his anger came running back to him.
"Kyu? Tum bhi toh Vidhushi k saathh..."
"I wont dance with her ever! I promise.." He interuppted her, his tone softer than the earlier one. The sight of Sanyukta so close to Parth was still raising his temper. He could not see her with anyone else, and if that meant he too had to stay away from Vidhushi, it was a very small price to pay. As it is , Vidhushi was a mere colleague! But Sanyukta...Sanyukta was his...his...yeah, his "workmate with benefit" - a step further then what Vidhushi was. Yeah ,that was it, he calmed himself, though he knew he was lying to his heart by bestowing that tag upon her.
Sanyukta just stared into his eyes, attempting to find any emotion apart from arrogance and dominance, and for a second she actually saw in them jealousy and..and...love? Yes, it looked like love to her. But before she could analyse it further, Randhir quickly looked away. Knowing that she had partially discovered his true emotions, he immediately added,
"You are my girlfriend Sanyukta...so what if it is only for physical pleasure."
Sanyukta tightened the grip around his collar, trying to control the pain she felt as he uttered those words.
"Exactly Randhir...We are in a physical relationship only. That means I am free to attach myself emotionally to anyone."
Randhir felt a sudden pain in his heart on hearing her words, he immediately closed his eyes, trying to absorb the pain...
*Tring Tring*
Their dance was disturbed by Randhir's ringing cell, which flashed "Bhai calling" on its screen.
"Ex cuse me.." He moved out of the hall to receive tha call, while Sanyukta walked towards Parth.

"Haa bhai.."
"Randhir! Kidhar hai tu? Phone kyu nahi utha ta hai ? Is everything ok?"
"Ha...haa...bhai.." Randhir tried to sound all normal.
"Ur sure? I hope u have maintained ur distance from Sanyukta..." Kabir suspiciously asked.
"Y...Yes bhai.." Randhir blalantly lied. Inspite of Kabir's warning to stay away from Sanyukta, he was finding it almost impossible for him to do so.
"I mean...U can have ur share of fun...I think she has fallen for u...So u knw...u can take advantage of that...bt stick to fun only..V could always use her at the appropriate time..." Randhir clutched the phone in his hand as his brains registered Kabir's words. He felt disgusted at his brother's thoughts! Yes, deep down he knew she had fallen for him. Fallen for him hard. That being the precise reason he had started maintaining distance from her. He did not want her to fall madly in love with him. She would end up hurt...broken ad scarred...And that was the last thing he wanted to see- his Sanyukta, broken because of him.
But he was beginning to realise that this distance was hurting him even more than it was hurting her.
"Randhir!" Kabir broke his chain of thoughts.
"Haa bhai!..Waise aap ne call kyu kiya tha?" He wanted to come to the point.
"Well...Befriend Vidhushi, Randhir... she is the main weapon v got in this game of ours..." Randhir's heart stopped for a moment as realisation dawned over him- Yes, this was all a game, a game they were playing to win. To win all that they had lost years ago! And he had to play according to Kabir's rules. But, what about Sanyukta? She had nothing to do with all of this! Why was she being the scape goat here?
"Ideally Sanyukta was perfect for the plan..but considering her cold relation with her family she is of no use..U know.." Kabir continued.
"Bt Vidhushi isn't.."
"Oh yes she is! She is very much part of the Agarwal family...She is Ankit's and Sanyukta's half sister u c...And Mr. and Mrs. Agarwal
love her the most..." Kabir wickedly smiled. But for Randhir, his world stopped for a moment. Vidhushi was Sanyukta's sister? But...how? Vidhushi was younger to Sanyukta..that meant, Sanyukta was living with her step mom. But why hadn't Sanyukta told him about this? He suddenly found himself feeling bad , for Sanyukta had not made him aware of such a delicate fact of her life. Didn't he deserve to know? Wasn't he important enough for her to confide in him?
Though, now he understood Sanyukta's hatred for Vidhushi. He mentally stabbed himself a hundred times for acting like a moron to defend Vidhushi before Sanyukta, always! How hurt she must have been!
"I want u to get close to Vidhushi, Randhir!" And Kabir disconnected the call, without even waiting for Randhir's reply.
Randhir froze at the spot on hearing Kabir's words- Get close to Vidhushi? But..but..what about Sanyukta...? His heart was on the verge of sinking...
As I said earlier, the party is not over yet..xD
