Chapter-7 The Realization
That night Reyansh was deeply thinking and comparing between Taani and Sharon, there is a feel and a bond with Taani that is pulling him towards her, but situations are not helping him.
On the other hand Taani was thinking about Rey and was happy that she was strong enough not to show her emotions and has portrayed herself as a strong woman in front of Rey.
Sharon locked up herself in her room and was crying her wits out, why is everything turning out like this.
Swayam to put off his feeling and for his mind to stop working took some alcohol and collapsed on his bed unconsciously.
Taani was delighted and enthusiastic about the day's work for two reasons , Firstly, it was a big project for them , it meant a lot to their organization , secondly Rey both working for the same project , and it's time for her to show what he has missed in his life and want to see him repent for what he has done ! but she was totally confused as of why she is so much interested in this project and caring more on her looks , he was the person who left her , and it's all over in the past , she is not interested in him anymore , but why is she doing all this ?
She was all set and ready to leave, and for the one last time she checked herself in the mirror, she tied a golden yellow georgette saree with a perfect maroon color designer blouse and left her hair loose with small studded ear rings which goes along with the saree, it was simple yet elegant!!
She was leaving to office, when her brother Visesh called out to her
"Hey sis, your gorgeous today!! What's up baby?" he asked her teasingly, she gave him a broad smile and was about to start her vehicle when her brother stopped her and told
"You look so happy, it's been so many days that I have seen you smiling like this" and tapping her on the shoulder, he continued "I want you to be like this sis, Always!! Forever!!" Saying this he left the place
She reached their office and upon checking herself in the mirror, she went inside told about her and was waiting at the reception.
Reyansh received a call from reception that Taani has arrived, and he has been preparing himself to be strong and not to be a mousy in front of her. After so much of courage, he finally himself went to receive her, she saw her seated in the reception, he was dumbfounded on seeing her, and he was staring at her she was exceptionally beautiful, the first word that came to him was Magnificence!! She was scrolling through a magazine deeply engrossed in an article, the lushness, dignity in her is so appealing that every person passing by was staring at her, Reyansh was thinking She changed a lot, she was beautiful but the elegance in her is what transferred her into a real marvelous beauty .Why did I leave her...when I liked her..when I had falleeennn...llooo...vvveee?' and was observing every gesture of hers with awestruck eyes.
Taani became restless and was searching for someone to call her, as she was searching her eyes fell on Reyansh, with a revealed expression, she walked towards him.
"Hey hi" she told him smiling
"Hi"
"Can you please start with the proceedings, I've been waiting for that , but the no body didn't turn up yet"
"Hey it's me, who needs to be with you ..I mean to work with ..you..., Sorry for the delay, was struck up in small work"
"Oh that's great!' she said with a twinkle in her eye
"Come, let's move" he said gesturing with his hand.
He took her into his cabin, he could see all his subordinates staring at the new girl, his blood was boiling inside, but there is nothing he could do.
"Taani, he is Stephen Raj..., Head of the Indian branch"
"Stephen, she is Taani, the one who is going to handle the event on Women's day"
Stephen extended his hand towards Taani and said "Nice to meet you"
Reyansh was eyeing everything with sober-mindedness', he could sense that Stephen has started liking this girl at the first instance and was trying to gain her attention, Reyansh was fuming inside.
"Mr Reyansh you can leave...you have lots of work now I can manage with your officials and, I will guide Miss Taani through everything" told Stephen.
"Hey but you..can't asked me to do that, right...I am the CEO...of RS ...and its a merger of your Indian branches with us and Miss Shekhawats...T and Group.you should not forget no body is your Subordinates..?"said a surprised Reyansh , if he was in his previous mind set , he would have left everything to Stephen , but now at any cost he was not in a position to leave her , some feeling towards her is pulling him towards her.
"Yeah, but I'm free today, I will help her, you carry on with your work" told Stephen, trying to convince Reyansh Singhania...
"No probs Stephen, even I'm free, I will do" told Reyansh firmly
Stephen understood that Reyansh was not going to give away, so he let him in.
"Ok, you guys carry on, Will catch you sometime later" he said to both of them and they left his cabin.
As they left the place, she saw his face and understood that he was angry for some reason, she looked him into the eye, for a moment there eyes met and left.
"So why are you angry?" asked Taani
"How do you know that?"asked Rey who was taken aback at the sudden question
She pointed towards his eyes , "Those told that you are angry"after that no one spoke a word , both of them are thinking about their first meet , going back and reminding each and every aspect of it again and again , reliving the moment in their thoughts !!!
Silence was predominant between them , Taani and Rey both couldn't find words to break this speechlessness, Rey took Taani into his personal cabin and asked her to wait there.
"I will be back in a minute, please wait here Taani"she nodded her head in anticipation.
He hurriedly walked past the corridor, into the washroom, closed the door and splashed some water on to his face. Clutching his fist hard, closed his eyes.
God, why are you testing me? Why? Is this the mortification I'm paying for what I have done? Yes, she is the one for me! I have realized that but how can I now..." he opened his eyes and was staring blankly at his engagement ring. Tear drop tried to escape from his eye, but he held it back and splashed some more water on to his face, wiped away the water and walked back to where he left Taani.
His footsteps found a break as he saw Taani talking with Stephen , Stephen was talking with her as well as exploring Taani with his eyes , Rey was raging with anger , how dare he is doing that to Taani' and walked hurriedly towards them to break their conversation , before he could do anything , Stephen has left the place. The last scene between them made him more crazy about Taani , When Stephen once again extended his hand while leaving , Taani, gently refused his hand-shake...by folding her hand and saying Namaste...
Taani upon seeing him was once again relieved to see Rey as earlier,
"Thank God, you turned up Rey, that guy has gone mad, I think something has smitten him, this was the second time you rescued me today"she told him smiling
He smiled at her and told "But you knew very well, how to handle yourself Taani"
She put on a question mark on her face and asked "What does that mean"
"Well you knew the answer, now let's get back to work please"
"Yeah as you say" she didnt prod further into the issue and left it
Rest of the day was spent in discussing and planning about the event, even though Rey was engrossed in his work, but he couldn't resist himself from eyeing Taani, whatever she does its making him to fall for her more and more, the way she puts back the peck of hair falling on to her face behind her ears, the way she is settling her papers in her file when they were falling , she was so cute. Adorable' Rey thought how foolish of me to leave her', in the middle of their work her mobile rang
"Hello" she told
"Yeah, yeah ... I got you... yes yes ... I will be available in the evening, please don't mind... it's all my pleasure to help you out... no no... it's my responsibility, there is nothing I'm doing out of the moon things"
"Who was that?"asked Rey who couldn't control his curiosity
"Nothing, A Lady wanted to meet me for a solution on her problem"
"Oh, that's great."
"There is nothing in that Rey, It's my ambition, and I have succeeded in that, I'm happy for that, there is happiness in that" she said with a happiness , happiness that is coming from within , there is a tinge of satisfaction in her voice , he felt that.
"You're so humble Taani"
"He he, nothing of that sort" she said with a wave of dismissal , he thought she was so ambitious , no she was ambitious to do something in her life , but that did not led her to delinquency. He understood the difference of having a aim in life and being ambitious enough to hurt people and think of his/her own good rather than others.
"Taani" he called her with devoted
"Ha Rey" she turned towards him
"You are Gorgeous and exquisite looking" he told with truthfulness in his voice and turned towards her, she was staring at him with wide eyes, their eyes met for the second time, and now both of them reading each other eyes and they knew what that meant now!!
Finally the big day has arrived; Taani with her team members arrived and was organizing everything, distributing the work, and everything was in a hustle and bustle, even though she was busy with her work her eyes were searching for Rey.
Rey upon reaching his office directly went to the place where the program is being organized in search of her. His jaw dropped down on seeing her. He couldn't understand , what is making her look more beautiful , is it because of the charm in her face or is it because of those saree she wears or the way she flaunts herself without making it look odd , what was it making her look more beautiful ? Today she wore a plain dark pink saree with a golden border with a designer golden blouse, and jumkhi's which went along with the saree and her hair was set up with curls. The way she presents herself makes people to admire her. He was at awe with her. He was just staring at her with awesomeness. He regained his senses and walked up to her.
"Hey Hi" he told casually
"Hii Rey, Good morning" she said without lifting her head and was scribbling something on to her notepad.
"You look busy" he asked
"Nope, jotting down few points for my final speech"
"Nice, can I have a look at it" he asked her trying to pull the notepad from her
She backed away from him and told "ha ha no, that is only for women not for men" she said winking at him.
"Hmm ok, see you then" he told and was about to leave the place when Taani called him back "Hey you felt bad?"
"Nope, not at all, I can hear it when you will be addressing these people, because I will be around, coz you may need my help" he said winking at her, she gave him a thumbs up sign and he left the place.
And the day's event has begun; everything was going well, and now the final part of it, Taani's speech. Rey was at the far end of the room, waiting for this part, coz he heard a lot about her public speaking skills. And here began her speech.
"Good evening my dear ladies" she said
"Good evening" came back the chorus from the audience
"So how was your day? Did you enjoy the activities done by us?
"Yesss" came the chorus now a bit louder
"Well, can any one of you tell, how are you feeling now?"
One lady stood up and told "You know it was like a stress reliever, and I enjoyed a lot, hopefully everyone here I think"
"Thank you so much and that was really a great feedback from you, actually this organization has been formed for the modern day women, yes, in this modern day women not only plays an important role at home but also plays an important role in the outside world.
Women face many social challenges in the current day and age. Whether it be securing an income for her family or raising children amidst the harsh economic crisis, a woman plays many roles... Women are often over-worked and women's rights are still very much an issue in many parts of the world.
We need to empower women to face challenges by providing tools and techniques that help to eliminate individual stress. A sense of community spirit is created that allows women to face similar challenges as a team rather than individually. Women need to find practical solutions to their challenges so that each one becomes self-dependent in their own right.
You might be listening to news, reading newspaper or magazine, you would have gone through incidents and accidents with women in India. While any other article on women's empowerment in India will take a look at our rich heritage and enlightened societies of the past where women were treated as equals, the concept of "India" itself evolved quite recently, relative to the sum of its parts' histories. But the TRUTH is that in the modern India, the woman has always been a second grade citizen, no matter what its esteemed leaders have said or done. The reasons could be varied for various women, some women could be deprived of these opportunities because their men don't want them to work, the others may be restricted due to family pressures or peer pressures. Even I myself was an strong example of one such thing" she took a brief pause, there was pin drop silence in the auditorium, everyone was listening intently to her every word and she continued "Yes, it is only in India that glaring and brutal gang rapes occur frequently in a state that is headed by a woman Chief Minister. Gender discrimination is the least of worries for women in India, known otherwise as the fourth most dangerous country in the world for women. Other instances of violence against women has an astonishing and grim variety to it - with acid throwing, domestic violence stemming out of dowry, rape, harassment and an assortment of others"
"We mainly concentrate on helping out women in their problems, and help them in finding a solution, and relieving them from stress from their routine work, revitalize them with new energy"
"Sorry that was very long, and thanks for your patience with me" with that she concluded her speech and the whole auditorium was roaring with claps, later on continued with awards distribution , and after that many women walked up to her to appreciate her , and some to find a solution for their problem. It has become so late and she was totally exhausted, It was a tiring day . .
She collected her things and was about to leave, "Hey madam, you forgot about me" she recognized the voice and turned towards the direction smiling "Hey Rey you haven't left"
"How can I? I need to help you right?" he said making a puppy face
Ohh Really??" she asked him surprisingly
"Nope, was about to leave but heard that you were here, and was waiting for you madam"
"Oh, thanks, that's so nice of you Rey"
"It's my pleasure"
And they started walking towards the parking lot, "You have your vehicle?"
"No called up my brother, he will come here to pick me"
"If you don't mind I will drop you Taani"
"No problem Rey, Visesh will be here any min"
"Ok by the time he comes, how about a coffee?"
"Yeah sure, I really need that Rey"
"Let's go!" he sounded excited
He ordered coffee for both of them, and they both took their places,
"You seem to be tired Taani"
"So what else Rey"
"I'm sorry Taani for what I have done" he told with quavering voice
"About what?" she asked surprised at the question
"..." he didn't answer, she understood and said soothingly
"Because of that only Rey I have changed a lot, and I am what I am now because of that I have achieved my dreams. Thanks a lot for that"
"Taanniii..."
"Now , past is past Rey , all the best for your future , maybe lets meet again in this journey called life once again" she said calmly and left the place
How can I tell you Taani, I want you in my life!!? How can I?" and watched her as she left the place
Rey watched as Taani was leaving the place, the mere thought that he can't see her again, sent chills through his spine, he ran after Taani and shouted "Hey Taani stop"
She turned towards him with a question mark on her face, "what happened Rey?"
"Nothing, Visesh has come?" he asked her
"No, he got stuck up in some work, he asked me to leave" she answered
"How are you leaving?" he inquired her more
"Will hire some taxi or auto, that's not an issue Rey" she answered him smiling
"If you don't mind, Can I drop you?" he asked her genially
"Seriously?" asked Taani she asked him with a surprised look
"Why not?" he questioned her
"Nothing" she answered and he continued "so can I?" he asked her with a pleasing look
"No Rey, I will manage"
"Please Taani, Don't I have the privilege of dropping you at home?" he asked her pleadingly
"Rey, but..." she was about to say something, but changed her mind and told "Yes" he jumped with joy and thanked her a lot
"Hey Thanks a lot Taani, you please wait near gate 2, I will come there" he jumped with joy and left the place.
He is so childish' she thought to herself and left to Gate 2.
He has come to the gate 2 with his car and they left the place, no one spoke for some time, in the background some melodies are being run and Taani sat back on to the seat and closed her eyes, relaxing. He saw her, her face was depicting innocence but she was not! She knew how to handle everything, but still that freshness, pureness, innocence dominated everything, he felt like kissing her on the forehead at that instant, he wanted to take her face into his hands and wanted to swim deeply in her eyes, exploring her every thought! But his morals backed him off!
"Taani" Rey called her
"Ha Rey"
"Tired?"
"Yes, off late I'm being stressed a lot"
"Then why do you not stop stressing yourself a lot "
"It keeps my mind shut from unnecessary thoughts Rey, I'm happy like this"
"Thoughts like?" he prodded her more, he want to learn more about her
"Nothing Rey, some sort of personal things" she said with the wave of dismissal
"Taani, can I ask you something?" he asked her pacing towards the road.
"ha Rey , what?"She asked
"Meeting me now after the incident, what were your feelings?"
"Nothing Rey, but after that incident, I felt like I want to ask you people what was the reason you cancelled the marriage, coz we heard dual reasons for that one that you are not interested second was dowry, I felt that you liked me , at that time I really felt like asking you really that you didn't like me, but now I feel like I don't need any answers for that. It hurts to know the reason behind that, so haven't asked you anything Rey"
"Don't you want to know the reason now?" he asked her
"If you wish you can" she told, but deep down she knew that it's gonna hurt her a lot
"I thought you were ambitious Taani, but that was not the reason I backed off, there was a feeling in me which made me think that you are the only one for me , I haven't told anyone like this , except you Taani , My dad called me and told that they have cancelled but never asked me what was my opinion but thought that I didn't like you , First I thought it was all infatuation and didn't mind but later I understood , that you are the one , I never had the guts to tell him my mind , and later I came to know that he backed off because he wanted dowry , which cannot be afforded by your dad , but before I can do anything , I have been engaged , there is nothing I could do , I was a coward to fight with my dad Taani" his voice was calm and serene , she could sense the sincerity in his voice , she could feel his warmth ,affection and sincerity in his voice , she closed her eyes , a tear drop tried to escape from her eyes , but she managed not to show her feelings to him , coz he is now engaged , she cannot disrupt the feelings of another girl , and let another girl undergo the same agony she went through!
"Rey stop the car here, I will go , it very near from here"
"I will drop you at home Taani"
"No Rey, please stop here" her voice very stern, he did as told
Now it's time for Reyansh and Sharon's wedding! Amidst all these events and happenings, discreetly was arriving their wedding day, everyone was getting busy with their marriage works, except the required people, who need to be busy with their marriage schedule - The Bride and the Bridegroom , who are in their own far off distant land.
Rey after that incident actually tried to meet Taani many times, and if she is ready for marriage with him, then he wanted to cancel his engagement with Sharon, but he failed to get any information from her or what she wanted to do, so he left everything in the hands of destiny.
As their wedding day was approaching, everyone was getting busy with marriage works. Marriage is one of the biggest celebration in one's life which can happen only once, which every girl and guy dreams off!, Especially in India , marriage is a dream as well as it brings upon all the cultures and traditions , bonding up people of two different families into one . One fine day Reyansh's dad called up Sharon's Dad
"Namaste ji" told Sharon's dad
"Ha ji, How are you" asked Reyansh's dad
"I'm fine, how are you?" asked Sharon's dad
"Are you free today, I want to meet you once" his voice was very deep; Sharon's dad sensed that something went wrong.
"Ha ji , where shall we meet ?" asked Sharon's dad
Sharon's dad was worried ,because Reyansh's dad voice was very stern and deep , he sensed something was wrong ,he was worried because his business was in a deep loss , he is somehow managing all the expenses regarding his daughter marriage , now any other expenses might lead him to more debt and he cannot manage that or another question that is making him more worried was , did Reyansh's family learnt about his situation and is he now coming to cancel the marriage , he was frazzling , he didn't find an answer , No one at home knows about his failing business, because that might spoil the happiness at his home , even he was unaware how his 100 crore turn over business has been killed and led him into bankruptcy. He is preparing himself for the consequences. Hoping for the best and fingers crossed, he was waiting for Reyansh's dad
They both met at Sharon's place, her father received Reyansh's Father and they went inside his private room and closed the doors behind them.
"So what was it you wanted to talk with me?" Sharon's dad asked his father
"Ha nothing ji, we heard that you business is very low nowadays" he asked him casually, but his words hit her father straight
"It's nothing big, it happens in business right" Sharon's Father said casually, trying to smoothen out the tension that is building up between them.
"Ha.. You are right" he gave a pause and continued " actually Reyansh is having a dream of buying BMW , so I thought I can ask you , as you can afford it easily"
Sharon's dad made his eyes big and couldn't digest the fact that he has come to demand more dowry, if his business was running well, he could have given me in the next instant, but now, how can he afford that? How to manage this extra burden? He has already given a huge sum as dowry and now again this!!
Sharon's Father tried to persuade him that he will later present his son in law with all those gifts, so asked him to continue with the marriage proceedings, Reyansh's dad was persistence that he should give the dowry before the marriage date and giving his final statement he left the place.
Upon reaching his place he told his family, i.e. his wife and son about everything and told them not to worry about anything and he will take care.
I know it was a late update...but I promise monday 25.08.14 u all will get a long update...and I know quite well all of u will like it...and love it...but before that pls like this one and comment big...
