Are we as a society trained to always blame women?

Last few days I have been following the posts and reading people's reaction about Jalal's behavior towards his pregnant wife whom he claimed to love and sometime else's wife.
What surprised me is that in an attempt to prove Jalal blameless, there were a lot of posts claiming Atifa must be related to Benazir or MC's spy and what not. Even if Atifa is the devil incarnate, does it make Jalal blameless for treating his wife this way at her delicate condition?

Another surprise is may be Jalal will find out that Atifa is the evil and Jodha being the understanding doormat forget her self-respect and dignity and forgive him for being a lecher and a fool. Really? Would Jalal forgive Jodha if the situation is reversed? He was very quick to blame her character when he thought Suja was her lover. Now his character is in question.

The day people start putting man and woman in equal footing, it won't be as easy to forgive men's cheating. Women are always quick to blame the other woman. But even if Atifa is wrong, it does not make Jalal right for giving mental stress to his pregnant wife.

When Ruk was fake pregnant, Jalal was falling all over her and appointed Jodha as her special servant and now Jodha is really pregnant and risked her life to save his other wives and his family including his sorry ass and yet he is behaving like a lecher.

Now it might be fake. But even it is, he knows that Jodha is carrying his babies and he waited a long time for those babies. Yet he is giving mental stress to Jodha to the point that she thought of committing suicide as if he does not care if she lives or dies.

After this even if Jodha forgive him, what is the guaranty that tomorrow some other woman won't catch his fancy? Yesterday it was Benazir, today it's Atifa, tomorrow it will be someone else. There is no shortage of women.

In fact Ruk should be happy. She is the only women whom Jalal treated consistently. He never went mad for her, but he never disrespected her either.
He might have treated Jodha like precious jewel, but he never disrespected or insulted anyone as he did to Jodha.

If that is love, I will take friendship over it anyway...

We are not speaking of a goody goody boy from a goody goody family today to speak of equal rights. The man in question is a 16th century Emperor with awful lot of responsibilities and a lot of hard decisions to make. Polygamy was the order of the day as well. You can't expect Jalal to puppy around Jodha forever.
Jodha has a way of hitting him worst that neither ruks nor any other begum do. Hence he treats her with disrespect at times. (If you remember she was the one to give him a dhakka. Even Salima obliged in ruks mc track). Also Jodha is the one who can risk her life without second thoughts. So he treats her like a precious jewel too.

After ben and atifa there WILL be other women. Who told you that Jalal was a one woman man. Neither was Bharmal Man Singh or any other king in those days.

Being a woman myself i dont agree to this post . Ya what jalaal is doing to jodha during pregnancy is wrong but is she standing up to her rights n fighting for it ? Shes not asking shehanshah how ur love faded for me what happenned nothing? Nope shes contemplating suicide which shows her weakness.

N u hv given n example that Jalaal wud nvr forgive jodha like in sujamal track. But in Khyber issue he has forgiven her she erred big time as a wife n Queen m not saying abt following patis orders but she got difference of opinion betn husband n wife in front f all d ppl n made akbar pardon khybers Death sentence. She erred as a queen by letting Khyber go scot free even after he had killed so many soldiers. Although her intentions wrt khyber were gud but she is responsible for killing so many ppl n soldiers n destruction of houses f poor ppl. Then Jalaal didnt fall for billage gossip that Jodha slept wid paraya mard n ran away hand in hand wid paraya mard.

Having said all of tht she too is a human being n she too will hv flaws n she too will b blamed for those flaws n its not that society is like this or that its just how we take circumstances that life presents before us n how we react to it . If someones wrong then they r wrong.

Jalal is too much on jodha if he dont love jodha no more atleast he should take care of pregnant woman atleast he should stop hurting her menatally, if khyber would not have been to save her she would have jumped in to the well after being rejected from jalals love. Even though khyber kidnapped jodha atleast he saved jodha from death and saved jalals two children who are innocent lives on earth.

This show is n should not represent present day society of equal right ...if we are talking about equal right how can a 16 th century society give equal right to man and his many wifes... This man is none other than shahansha ... If we can say how can jodh forgive him after atifa issue then how his other wife's forgiving him after his every marriage ... Here issue is atifa is married ... And who is jodha ... She is the one who is keep dishonor ing and disobeying emperor in public... If we assume she has equal rights as wife but definitely not she has equal rights as queen ... She is not co ruler ... Here in USA we are enjoying some time more rights as wife and as women ...but do society forgive Obama if Michael Obama overruled his order as president ... No na... So think realistically ...this story is about 16th century emperor And his one wife among many to whome he loves most... But it doesn't mean he has nothing to do except loving her and she can do any thing because emperor loves her...

Very Good Post.
I think Jalal is acting to b in luv with Atifa. Even in that case he should have taken Jodha into confidence. In Khyber case also, he should have explained things to her in advance. As an emperor he doesn't owe explanation to anyone but as a husband he does. He has always treated Jodha as his equal- So now if he wants Jodha to become a typical 16th century wife and consider him as Pati Parameswar who can never do anything wrong. Then he will be disappointed and rightfully so.
What they are depicting in the show is wrong. In order to protect a woman from danger outside is it okay to put her into so much of mental stress? Preserving her honour in public is important, What about preserving her honour inside home - that is also a duty of husband right? And Forget about Jodha forgiving Jalal- Nobody is going to ask for her forgiveness. She is the most fortunate wife- her husband is doing everything only for her. So what if he thinks that she isn't competent enough to be his true ardhangini- and therefore be a part of his plan specially when it is related to her life. And now they are hell bent on proving that she is arrogant and does not obey her husband- so she deserves the treatment she is getting. Wonderful!!! Don't be surprised if she has to ask for pardon in front of everyone at the end of the track.

i think lots of young girls of today's time and age do not find this acceptable but we are talking of an era where the kings were ruthless and women were just a play toy for them..they used it and went on to the mext one because it was an era of polygamy and men had the liberty to do it..this is the era when shah jahan amputated the hands of the workers and blinded their eyes after making taj mahal so that they cannot make another one..not only that even the britishers did the same to indian workers..and look at the slavery system how the blacks were treated and there was a film made on it but cannot remember the name..now why a handful of rulers gained the khitaab of being great was because of their humanity..and akbar was one of them..he had many women and i am sure the wives especially the main wives must have been ok with it but this is a show they will dramatize it to gain trps..all i can say is bless your stars u do not belong to that era..women fought for their rights and lots of changes were made in the laws to be where they are today!

By and large I agree with what you have said.😊
By the way, a polygamous setup and having a harem full of women is not a good enough excuse to talk harsh. act rude, kill a woman's mind, heart and self-respect with heart-wrenching words, especially when the lady in question is pregnant and is claimed to be his most beloved, loyal and trustworthy life-partner. That is not how a wife, a lover, a pregnant lady and above all a Queen is and should be treated by a responsible husband, lover and a King --- despite him knowing the ziddi and neek dil nature of his beloved wife who often breaks rules with the sole reason being saving the honour or life of her beloved husband / king of the Sultanate.

..and i have also heard but do not quote me on this that abul fazl kept a record in his writings which begum or concubine akbar slept with..well i read this somewhere or saw it in a documentary and also keep in mind ekta is only showing 10% of what used to happen because if she shows 100% reality on sex life of the emperor u all will be shocked beyond belief and this was the case of all the kings of that era!
