Of course we are not talking about goody two shoes men who understand equal rights. But then why call this story Jodha Akbar? Why not call it just Jalal or Akbar? And why Atifa has to be a bad woman? Then why try to find fake love/cheating between Atifa and Jalal? May be now it's Atifa/Akbar love story.

Secondly, Jalal has treated Jodha with much more disrespect than Jodha could ever do.

So I guess you are prepared to watch Atifa and Jalal love story. And even in that case treating his pregnant wife like shit was not historically correct either unless you are talking about Jalal is basically a selfish jerk and a lecher.

We are not speaking of a goody goody boy from a goody goody family today to speak of equal rights. The man in question is a 16th century Emperor with awful lot of responsibilities and a lot of hard decisions to make. Polygamy was the order of the day as well. You can't expect Jalal to puppy around Jodha forever.

Jodha has a way of hitting him worst that neither ruks nor any other begum do. Hence he treats her with disrespect at times. (If you remember she was the one to give him a dhakka. Even Salima obliged in ruks mc track). Also Jodha is the one who can risk her life without second thoughts. So he treats her like a precious jewel too.

After ben and atifa there WILL be other women. Who told you that Jalal was a one woman man. Neither was Bharmal Man Singh or any other king in those days.

If your husband claims to love another woman, you may fight to get his body back but would you get the other woman out of his heart? Think about it.

Being a woman myself i dont agree to this post . Ya what jalaal is doing to jodha during pregnancy is wrong but is she standing up to her rights n fighting for it ? Shes not asking shehanshah how ur love faded for me what happenned nothing? Nope shes contemplating suicide which shows her weakness.

N u hv given n example that Jalaal wud nvr forgive jodha like in sujamal track. But in Khyber issue he has forgiven her she erred big time as a wife n Queen m not saying abt following patis orders but she got difference of opinion betn husband n wife in front f all d ppl n made akbar pardon khybers Death sentence. She erred as a queen by letting Khyber go scot free even after he had killed so many soldiers. Although her intentions wrt khyber were gud but she is responsible for killing so many ppl n soldiers n destruction of houses f poor ppl. Then Jalaal didnt fall for billage gossip that Jodha slept wid paraya mard n ran away hand in hand wid paraya mard.

Having said all of tht she too is a human being n she too will hv flaws n she too will b blamed for those flaws n its not that society is like this or that its just how we take circumstances that life presents before us n how we react to it . If someones wrong then they r wrong.

Even if we are not talking about equal right, we are talking about treating his pregnant wife like shit. And while other wives have forgiven his marriage, he is attempting to take away another man's wife which in every religion considered a crime especially in Islaam while putting through his pregnant wife through mental agony. Now may be we are taking and 16th century but even in that era a pregnant woman specially someone carrying the heir to the throne were treated with respect mostly by the husband. And at that time the husband starts panting after another man's wife, then even in that era the husband would be called a lecher and a jerk.

This show is n should not represent present day society of equal right ...if we are talking about equal right how can a 16 th century society give equal right to man and his many wifes... This man is none other than shahansha ... If we can say how can jodh forgive him after atifa issue then how his other wife's forgiving him after his every marriage ... Here issue is atifa is married ... And who is jodha ... She is the one who is keep dishonor ing and disobeying emperor in public... If we assume she has equal rights as wife but definitely not she has equal rights as queen ... She is not co ruler ... Here in USA we are enjoying some time more rights as wife and as women ...but do society forgive Obama if Michael Obama overruled his order as president ... No na... So think realistically ...this story is about 16th century emperor And his one wife among many to whome he loves most... But it doesn't mean he has nothing to do except loving her and she can do any thing because emperor loves her...

While historically you are absolutely right, my point is either Jalal is portrayed historically incorrect and is shown as a hero who treats his wife with respect or he is historically correct and is a lecher and a jerk. He can not be both.

i think lots of young girls of today's time and age do not find this acceptable but we are talking of an era where the kings were ruthless and women were just a play toy for them..they used it and went on to the mext one because it was an era of polygamy and men had the liberty to do it..this is the era when shah jahan amputated the hands of the workers and blinded their eyes after making taj mahal so that they cannot make another one..not only that even the britishers did the same to indian workers..and look at the slavery system how the blacks were treated and there was a film made on it but cannot remember the name..now why a handful of rulers gained the khitaab of being great was because of their humanity..and akbar was one of them..he had many women and i am sure the wives especially the main wives must have been ok with it but this is a show they will dramatize it to gain trps..all i can say is bless your stars u do not belong to that era..women fought for their rights and lots of changes were made in the laws to be where they are today!

Wonderful post. 👏👏👏
I have not read your posts on JA forum before, so welcome to JA forum.

I just cannot take and understand for whatever reason how Jalal can abuse Jodha verbally. Even worse was his shouting at his unborn babies (bending down!) when Jodha requested him not to talk in such way their babies will hear. This is the Jalal who has craved a waris for so long.

Even if Jalal is doing this to protect Jodha and his warris there was absolutely no need to be this harsh and lashing her with words when she is carrying twins, has already undergone some tough physical incidents.

Nobody is there to look after Jodha in her pregnancy, she is not even allotted extra bandis or security. Shouldn't her security be Jalal's first priority? If Jalal can allot guards to Atifa should not Jodha be allotted a fleet of them?! If Jodha had someone to share her thoughts like SB then she might not have gone to save Khyber also.

She was in such dazed feeling rejected state that she told Moti nothing is worthwhile now that she has lost Jalal's love. Jodha is not weak and
her suicide attempt was in extreme stress where she was not thinking anything beyond Jalal's words to her, when for a min she even forgot she was pregnant.

About Atifa, even if she threw herself at Jalal, it was his choice to reciprocate or not, what he is doing pretending, actually fallen for her - no idea but he is as much part of it as Atifa is.

I just hope there is some logical explanation for his behavior at track conclusion but no explanation will be good for me to justify his behavior towards Jodha who he loves and his unborn waris who he has craved for so long.

Are you seriously comparing infidelity with having a difference of opinion? Is that same in your eyes? So just because Jodha disagreed with Jalal he has the right to disrespect his wife and pant after another man's wife? Is being a doormat a guaranty of a husband's faithfulness? Ruk says yes to every one of Jalal's decision. Why is he unfaithful to her?

And you just proved my post. To justify Jalal's action, you blamed Jodha and counted her faults. So I guess we are indeed trained to always blame the woman.
