John Abraham's costars in Goal say that the star's boy-next-door attitude won them over. Being shot in London, UTV's Goal is about a football player. Playing John's friend in the film is Shakeel Khan, who says the actor spent a lot of time with the crew.

"We'd while away the time in John's vanity van," Shakeel said, "he would show us DVDs on his laptop, including a collection of his old films."
The weather was unpredictable, said Shakeel, and they would regularly shelter in the van. The shoot lasted three months in London and the film now needs a 10-day Goa shoot before it is complete. Shakeel plays an illegal immigrant in London who runs into John. "I play a boy who has no work and becomes John's friend. I keep motivating him to do stuff but he realises in the film that what I've been suggesting it is the wrong way to achieve success."
John chopped off his locks for the film and Shakeel said that was in keeping with the actor's professionalism. "People liked John because of his hair but he's very professional and says that even if he's told to increase his weight for a role, he'd do it."
John himself was happy with the way he looked now, he said, and we think his fans will agree!
