Prachi to host a chat show--Article(New)

Prachi Desai aka Bani of Kasamh Se is fast becoming the new favourite of Balaji Telefilms' big boss Ekta Kapoor. Ekta, who has transformed a simple girl into one of the successful actresses on television, is all geared to give another makeover to young Prachi. Balaji is planning a new show, where Prachi is going to play her age.

Prachi has been vocal about the fact that she hates the idea of playing a mother on screen, in Kasamh Se. And people in Balaji Telefilms do understand her point of view. The reason is that, ultimately she is just a teenager pampered by the entire unit, especially by Ekta. Prachi had spoken to Ekta several times expressing her desire to work for another show. As a result, Ekta gave her a cameo in Kasautii Zindagi Kay where she played a school girl some time back.

"Yet, Kasautii… was just a cameo, Prachi wanted a full-fledged role. So, now Ekta is planning a show for her. The theme of the show is yet to be decided. Most probably it will be a chat show, which Prachi will host," says our source.

Prachi, when contacted was reluctant to divulge any details. When probed, she merely confirmed the news of the development. "Yes, we've had a talk. But, things are at a primary stage, and nothing has been finalised yet," she said.

But, the fix over here is that the other two lead actors of Kasamh Se are busy doing other shows too. Ram Kapoor has just entered Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Ronit Roy is also doing multiple shows. Naturally, Prachi's attention will be divided if she opts for another show.

"Ronit and Ram are already busy doing Kyunki…. Now, if I sign another show, it will take a toll on Kasamh Se. So, for the moment I am concentrating on Kasamh Se. The other project will take some time to materialise," Prachi added.

Is she still unhappy with the mother's role in Kasamh Se? "I am not comfortable with the idea of playing a mother. But, Kasamh Se has made me whatever I am today. And I believe personal and professional things should be kept apart. So, I am just enjoying all the attention and success for the moment," Prachi said.
