Copyright notice by setindia-JJKN videos

Hello friends,

As you are aware, I have been uploading videos of JJKN at youtube from my collection, as people from all over the world are demanding videos of it. The show was so popular, that the people, who do not even understand Hindi, have been sending messages to me to upload more videos.(& I have been advising them to become a member of our forum for more links!😛)

Today I received a copyright notice from Setindia Private Limited. & youtube have asked me to delete all the videos of JJKN from there.They have already removed two videos at it. One is- Armaan tries to kiss Jassi & the other is the remix, that I had made from JJKN videos-Meri Jaan...Mera Armaan...

I just wanted to share this with you.

Our sheer intention is that we want to share our pleasure with other people & that is the sharing of videos of the show we loved the most!

Are we doing the wrong thing-uploading those videos? I know, legally we have no right over them, but... are we not the reason, that these shows become popular? & it has been a year, since the show has ended! Now, why should they object? & I thought that this way, their channel is getting free publicity!

Please comment & advise.

I am sorry to hear this Vimzy, but I'm afraid that's how it works. You have to take permission from the person who holds the copyright.

In fact, some months back I was asking my husband about uploading videos like this and he told me that it was illegal.

See, we all know that you are doing it for free for all of us, but there are many others who can easily make a profit by compiling them into dvds or videos and selling them.

You can ask setasia for permission but until then, they have every right to stop you, I'm afraid.

Legally the case is all theirs.
But you know what ..since setindia ( ihave seen the american sites upload all videos of their programme on the net)Doenst do it I really dont think uploading videos comes in the way of theirs Trps.

They need to give a re-think.

& the other question that comes to my mind is-should we continue to upload those videos? I think, this is for Imzi to answer. I don't want her to stop uploading those videos!😔

The only reason for this I think coz u have asked the members of youtube to join india-forums for more links.If they join IF then its loss for youtube.

In IF many ppl posts links of other sites, asking the members to visit their site but we trash those links as its advertisment.It is a loss of our own site. So they did the same with you..as you have advertised india-forums there.

See, whenever you watch a video or dvd - there is a copyright notice right at the beginning which states - only for private circulation - not to be reproduced for profit.

This basically means that you can keep the videos for your own collection and can also circulate it to your friends and family. But the moment you put it on a blog or website, you could get into trouble.

Don't feel bad about it yaar. Just remove them from the blog, that's it.😊

But I thought she got the notice from Setindia (Sony Entertainment Television) regarding copyright!!! Advertising another website and copyright are 2 very different things!!!

Well vimzz right now set-india has all the right to stop you from posting the videos at a public website. But there are so many people doing the same thing with other serials. Hell even fox tv which is such a big production house is not stopping people from putting videos up in youtube. Then why Set india? And if they are doing it then they should do it with all the other serials. Youtube is loaded up with videos from Kyph,Kutumb etc. Why don't you ask them about that? Legally they are doing the right thing though. If they still don't agree then I guess you should delete the videos from youtube,its better to not to get into any kind of legal trouble.

Agree with hansa di here, plus it cannot be that for another reason is that youtube is alot more popular then IF. There is no way that youtube is insecure of IF. And then again as hansa di said advertising another website and copyright are two different things

I did not advertise there about this site. The people send pms to me, asking for more videos of JJKN & I tell them about this site through pms only. How can anyone know about pms?😕 & youtube has thousands of videos-of all categories! (I found more than 86000 videos of the show-Betty La Fea there!) They would not check any particular account!

I think, what has happened is-Set India Private Limited is on a spree of looking out for their eps' videos & found my uploaded videos. Or maybe some guy from Set India saw one of my videos on net & complained about it.

I have decided to delete all of my videos there. I don't want my account to be banned there, as there are many lovely videos on my playlists.
