I disagree. There were actors from FTII, NSD and theatre background during his father's time also. And competition was always tough. It hasn't increased only now.
That said Ranbir does make brave choices and is a far more experimental actor than his father.

I absolutely love the way Ranbir talks about acting & his choice of films..You can almost sense his passion & dedication..Reason why i always keep hoping he stops talking about his damn personal life & just focuses on this part 😆

He doesn't have choice, when he do mainstream commercial film, it tanks, so he has to do those experiments to keep him in game.

While Rishi was phenomenal in his time with every genre, be it romantic, be it comedy.

I agree with him because there's much more pressure as well due to the media. I mean the Khans have had so many flops in the past but look at where they are today. These days, if an actor has a flop, he's written off immediately.

I thought YJHD was a mainstream commercial film 😕 Or was it art house cinema? 😆 If you are referring to masala films, then i agree..Ranbir cannot pull off a Dabangg but then i don think Salman can pull off a Barfi either..I doubt there is any actor who can pull off roles across all the genres 😆

Only his Besharam tanked. YJHD was as massy and commercial as it gets. One doesn't need to do one-man-demolition army kind of movies to be considered a mainstream hero. That way even SRK doesn't do those kind of movies.

YJHD was of mainly romantic genre, mainstream commercial means complete film with Romance, Action, Comedy, Emotions. In this forum, Salman can't do anything, so talking about what he is capable of in this forum is waste, even Salman fans of this forum will keep him to bottom when it comes to Acting. Forget Salman, Thread is on Ranbir, just coz he isn't capable of something, u need a KHAN 2 defend him? 😆

It's been 7 years, he has done films varying in subjects, by this time he should be able 2 do all kind of films. You comparing Ranbir to KHANS, who when came rocked even SINGLE SCREENS, they made huge with those films which run ONLY on Single Screens, While today Ranbir has added advantage, that too a HUGE Advantage of Multiplexes.

Just by doing Barfi he ain't done something exceptional, ask him 2 do a film which will cater to each kind of audience.

Lol, u forgot to see Besharam i guess, there was 1 man army in it flying in air beating 200 gunda log here n there, breaking glass 😆

Also Srk se yaad aaya, What kind of action was in Ra.One, Don 2 & Chennai Express, i don't think it was Barfi kind of action 😛
