It's been 7 years, he has done films varying in subjects, by this time he should be able 2 do all kind of films. You comparing Ranbir to KHANS, who when came rocked even SINGLE SCREENS, they made huge with those films which run ONLY on Single Screens, While today Ranbir has added advantage, that too a HUGE Advantage of Multiplexes.

Just by doing Barfi he ain't done something exceptional, ask him 2 do a film which will cater to each kind of audience.

Who is comparing him with the Khans? I just gave an example cos i genuinely don think there is any actor who can pull off roles across all genres..YJHD might not be a mainstream commercial film according to you but it was neither art house cinema nor an experimental film like Barfi..Its a quintessential Bollywood film..If by commercial, you only mean the masala genre, then yeah its not commercial by any means 😆

And no, Ranbir is not half as successful as the Khans.Till date, i have never claimed that he has more star power than them..Am not that delusional 😆 IMO, he is the better actor though and thats subjective at the end of the day so you are free to disagree..I dunno what you mean by 'doing films that will cater to each kind of audience' cos am really happy with what he has done so far & yeah, for me Barfi was exceptional..You are free to disagree cos its only an opinion at the end of the day 😆

The number of people who watched Barfi in theaters was more than the number of people who watched Jaiho. So how does it prove that Barfi kind of movies do not cater to all kind of audience but masala action flicks are everyone's cup of tea?

Even APKGK was a mainstream commercial film.

He's right. After top 3, its wide open. Newbies like Sid or Arjun are giving 100 cr hits without established fan base.

Honestly i don think Ranbir can ever have as much star power as any of the Khans..Like someone said, the era of super stardom is over..But then, i don get what we mean when we say a film has to cater to all sections of the audience..I assumed a YJHD comes close..Even Barfi cos it made 100 crores at the end of the day..I don think a masala film caters to all sections of the audience either..Am sure there are many who dislike the genre cos everyone has different taste at the end of the day..So how can you make a film which caters to everyone? If by that we mean a 3 Idiots or a Munna Bhai, Ranbir can pull it off with ease IMO..

U r confusing my post... i would give examples of films like from 90's - Baaghi, Karan Arjun, Dil, Ishq, Josh... and then PKTDK, MHN, OSO, Ghajini... Khans have a long list of films which were having all things - Romance, Action, Comedy, Emotional drama - A complete Entertaining package.

Now Khans were giving Big hits as well these kind of films, so it added a huge impact on Audience & now a Khan film comes, irrespective of audience thinking what kind of film it is... They storm the cinema halls.

I ain't ignoring what Ranbir has achieved, i am asking him 2 excel all over, not just stereotype in films like Barfi or YJHD. Barfi is huge hit in today's times, while u visit earlier days, u will have long list of those art house kind of films which tanked badly at BO coz no audience was there. So Ranbir is lucky to have Plex audience, a favourable critic group which will support every art house film blindly coz they believe in those kind of films only.

Sooner or later he will also give same kind of films which Khans gave, just he is bit late in it.

But then i never said Ranbir is equal to the Khans 😆 I quoted you only because you said Ranbir cannot do mainstream commercial films and IMO, YJHD is a commercial film through & through 😆 Of course Ranbir has a long way to go but as a fan, am happy with whatever he has done so far..And i believe Barfi & YJHD belong to diametrically opposite genres yet Ranbir managed to play both the roles well so i dunno how he is getting stereotyped..Either ways, i din even intend to compare him with the Khans..It was just an example 😆 I know Ranbir is no where close to them..

Only a really foolish person will believe that Ranbir is anywhere close to the Khans in terms of success or fan following. I don't think anyone can even reach the heights the Khans have achieved in near future - or maybe ever. Audience is more fickle nowadays.
But Ranbir is being smart and bold in his choices of films, by treading an uncommon path (Besharam was an aberration). Now - whether his choices will keep him at the the top of the pack of new actors or bring him down needs to be seen.
