Rich people and hit and run

I am disgusted with Ekta Kapoor and her promoting that it is perfectly fine for a wealth person to drink and drive and then knock over a bystander and destroy their livelihood and not get held accountable. Clearly the value of a poor person is ZERO in the eyes of Ekta Kapoor...Getting rich people to live in a chawl as I have seen in other dramas is not how you show respect to those who have less. You GIVE THEM JUSTICE.

Justice would ahve been Pragya standing up to Abhi and telling him what he did was wrong and ensuring the person in quesiton was fully compensated. However, teh selfish Pragya did not care for justice; she was more bothered that her mother would find out about her sham of a marriage and pass out. Here's a solution Pragya, get your mother to a doctor and get her on some medicaitons. NO-ONE has a stroke etc upon hearing shocking information. Second, Pragya is even more selfish in that she is has expected that her sister sacrifice her love for her fake marriage. What does she think that Abhi is going to stay with her after the marriage? He has told her time and time again he plans to leave her. And when he does, how does she plan on explaining everything to her mother.

Ekta Kapoor teachers her viewers that it is better to stay in a bad marriage than to be independent and have some dignity. Pragya might not be hit or slapped but she daily endures emotional and verbal abuse from Abhi. I am not sure what the writers intend. I liked the character of Pragya in the beginning but this week her character was portrayed as horribly selfish when she showed no remorse for the poor guy who was nearly killed because of her husband's reckless driving. She begged Suresth to withdraw the complaint without a single thought of the poor man. Shame Shame Double Shame.

I think that Pragya is going to get Abhi to somehow be responsible for what happened because she did tell the vendor not to withdraw the complaint and to do what she asks him to do. Maybe she may get him to do some charity work or something. As far as the makers of the show are concerned, I don't expect any logic or reasoning happening anytime soon.

First of all, nice post! I agree with most of what you have said especially about Pragya taking the non- sense. There are better ways out.
However I can find one explanation though- it's basic human instinct to protect your own. Whether it is Pragya protecting her mom or Abhi protecting his sister, one wants to do anything and everything for their own blood. Yeah it is honorable to stand up for what is right but most humans will not be able to do that. So let's take these characters as regular people and not the model ones.
Btw, police did take Abhi and questioned him. He is stuck in a case and he is not let go easily, at least that!

Agree with you and I like the fact that finally someone mentioned the obvious. Pragya's mother doesn't need to be told lies to keep her healthy and going, she needs a doctor. Besides, how long is Pragya going to keep covering up just so her mother doesn't "die from sorrow"? Life is full of problems and Pragya can't possibly evade all of them.

Sorry but we will have to disagree here. This blanket statement to say that regular people would do what Abhi and Pragya do is totally far fetched. Regular people do not marry people to take revenge on them and second, regular people as educated as Pragya know that you do not die from a stroke or have a heart attack once you get bad information. Come on, this is not the norm.

Abhi is a jerk and Pragya might as well trash and burn all her education as she is hardly showing any common sense. Suresh is echoing her nonsense..In fact all the characters with moral integrity are vanishing.

Thank you! I would have welcomed a better excuse such as bulbul and her fear of what they would do to her...that she even thought of getting out of the marriage and get bulbul and purab married..but none of this...EK is doing what she usually does, keeping a woman in a bad marriage for the sake of her family and continuing to reinforce this garbage.

Glad to hear she grew a spine and has some integrity - but she should not have asked it off Suresh either. if she wanted to settle out of court, she should make sure the man is compensated - there are ways to do this but at least say that you give a d_ for the poor victim - that is the Pragya that I used to see in the earlier episodes. Looks like the rich arrogrance of the wealth is rubbing off on Pargya.

Nice post. I agree with some of the points like they are setting a bad example by showing a wealthy man being able to hit and run without getting punished. In today's episode though, they showed Pragya giving what she had(her necklace that her mom gifted her) to the vendor and told him that he doesn't even have to take back the complaint and do what she tells him. Maybe she will do something to teach him a lesson. And also agree about the other points of this stupid excuse of staying in this marriage.

But I have to agree with Tia, it's human nature to think about their own first. She did feel bad for the vendor, but ofcourse at first she is going to think about her mother first. Yeah, marrying someone for revenge and thinking giving bad news causes you to have a heart attack or stroke and die, is really really really stupid. But that's not the point. In this case, I feel what Pragya did was human nature not selfishness. And to add, Pragya did tell Purab that she didn't want him to agree to marry Aaliya

It's kind of actually true the way she showed it, rich people think they own everything and it doesn't matter if they hit someone while they drive cause they got the money to pay for it

Nice post :)

If she did not want her mother to find out, then she could have at least said something to Suresh that it mattered that the man receive his justice but in another way; however, this was not conveyed at all. She only wanted to protect her mother from finding out about her sham of a marriage and that is ridiculous to me that she would be willing to let a man's livelihood become destroyed for the sake of her mother from findout the truth. I am glad though that she willing to at least try to help him out financially at her own expense.

Second I appreciate your willingness to accept that receiveing bad news does not cause a stroke or a heart attack - it doesn't happen that fast. The person might fall into a state of severe depression and for this we have medication and therapy - two western tools that EK refuses to promote in her shows...I guess she either has an aversion to them or a lack of knowledge of their effectiveness.

Finally, while she did not agree with Purab's decision she has done absolutely nothing about it and is letting him go ahead with the marriage...she is not even trying to figure a way out.
