The clock struck 12 with a sweet tune...the tune put Veera in to deeper slumber. Watching her sleep in his arms was Baldev's dream come true and behold... she was sleeping very peacefully in his arms. A little while ago the man in him had wanted her more than anything but now the lover in him made him wait with patience to make her his. He was now very calm and serene. He gently removed the small bit of her tresses on her beautiful face that was disturbing her sleep. She looked beautiful, he thought. Yes, she always did... for him...

Baldev floated down his memory lane...with Veera...

She was his "friendly foe" from the time they had known each other. He wanted to win ...by hook or crook...he did many a times...he had hurt her many a times ..he was very happy as well...but the moment he saw her cry, he had felt a sting on his tender heart. At that age when love was something beyond imagination, he had thought that when girls cry, boys always felt bad. He did realize soon enough that it was not the case...He had hurt Gunjan and lot of other girls in pind...none of their tears moved him. He made fun of them while they cried. Then what on earth really made him restless with Veera's tears. He did not understand then.

Later when he was a teenager, he used to like the way Veera dressed up...boyish yet so elegant and tender. She challenged him with almost everything and his days began and ended with her challenges. He missed her a lot when she went away for her studies...the first time in his life Baldev thought he should have continued with his studies as well and should have joined Veera's college. But she was gone. His friends Jaggi and Billu used to talk for hours saying how Veera will come back as English mem and she will have atleast a dozen boyfriends...the talk about her boyfriends irked him to infinity.

Veera was back in pind after her studies. She was more beautiful than ever. She had a naughty grin every time he saw her...he too had a naughty grin to go along...playful as ever, challenging as ever and wanting to win as ever...but this time Baldev wanted to win ...not over her antics but over her. Yes, he was in love...courtesy his friends Jaggi and Billu whose non-stop nonsense ended up in him falling hard and steady in love with Veera.

If not about anything else, Baldev Singh was hell sure of one aspect of himself - He thought he was very handsome(koi shak girls😆) and any girl will fall for him...No, he was not interested in any other girl...it was only Veera and he thought Veera was no exception. Little did he expect her to say No' to him...but she did...not once ..not twice.. atleast a hundred times and each time she said a No' he seemed to be falling deeper in love with her... much to his own amusement. She was his junoon now. The day she broke his heart, he still remembered how wild he had got and also remembered how much he cried his heart out. He vowed he would never ever look at her face again but destiny had other plans,, why blame destiny dear...Baldev's poor little heart had other plans...it started beating more louder for Veera...that the moment Veera offered her hand in friendship...he leaped over to hold her hand as if his life depended on her friendship...Let me start afresh with Friendship, he had thought then.

Polland, the land of natural beauty was awaiting to take their friendship to its next level...He went along...to stand guard for her, he cared for her, he sang for her, he danced for her, he jumped over fire for her, with her...little did he know that Veera's poor little heart also had started picking up its signal by then. She was head over heels in love with Mr. Baldev Singh. She wanted to propose...he was confused at her weird antics...and finally when she professed her love for him...it was a day to remember. He did not sleep, he did not eat...not just that day but for many a days to come...He was mad in love...she was madly in love...she sneaked in to his room many times...he actually expected her every night...the only reason why he had fixed that ladder outside his room and checked on its safety time and then...he loved to see her take this risk for him..lots of hugs and lots of kisses , missed of-course ...(thanks to the long list of their intruders who had an unmistakable sense of timing😡)

And boy did all hell break loose when their affair was no longer a secret...

Yes...his bheeji will have even a videshi kudi for bahu but not veera, Ranvi will have any decent educated fellow for Veera but not Baldev...Hell were those days when he could never even get a glance of his Veera for days- to- gether. Gunjan was their only savior...But their love stood this test of time and difficulties. They came out shining...ofcourse Nihal chachu was their pillar of support..Finally the families have accepted or had to accept seeing their love and here they are at the very gate of their matrimonial bliss...

Baldev: Shadi hai hamari...veerakadi...bus panch din bache hai kudiye...(He said holding a sleeping veera close to his heart)...

Accha sun...Were you serious that you want to have this suhagraat practice or were you just trying to bully me???

Veera moved a little more closer to Baldev when he mentioned suhagraat...(while still sleep)

Baldev had a small smile on his face...

Baldev: Accha Veera...ek aur gal sun...I wanna promise something to you today...aaj se mein sharaab chad raha hun...Promise...mere liye nahi...tumhare liye...(laughing) so that you don't end up drinking my liquor and sleep like this...After marriage I can't allow you to sleep like this, please my dear...today is fine, God know how he struggled to give me that strength to keep hold of myself...He winked at his sleeping Veera.

Baldev took a close look at Veera..Her lips were swollen and her hair and dress crumbled in his love...Baldev gently touched her lips...(Veera had a soft smile when he touched her lips)

Baldev drew in a long breath...he had to take Veera back to her home, he thought...If she wakes up like this in the morning she will for sure feel embarrassed and also what if someone at her home checks and finds out that she is missing from her room...

Baldev went down to the kitchen and fetched an ice pack...he walked back to his room and gently tended on her swollen lips with the ice pack...he corrected her hair and buttoned up her kurta...After a while when Baldev felt that Veera looked better he carried her in his arms to his jeep and drove her back to her house.

Veera's house looked calm and it was dark...Baldev thanked all his lucky stars...He was thankful enough to God that his sasuralwale were quiet dense...even during his courtship days they were the last to know of his and Veera's affair...only Sunny Singh saved grace for SS family😆...He knew well before anyone else did..thanks to Veera's rantings, he thought

Baldev gently carried Veera up to her room and placed her softly on her bed. She was still sleeping very peacefully...

Baldev: Veerakadi...meri needhen udake tum bahut chaine se so rahi hai ki??? Five more days my dear...I will make you forget even the spelling of sleep... I promise you that...

Baldev knelt down near her and kissed her lips and then her forehead..." I love you sau Veerakadi" he murmered in her ears, he quietly switched off the light and climbed down her room...not before giving her another glance on their first "half night" together...

It was bright and shine...Veera woke up with a heavy head...Did I bang against something, she tried to recollect...She looked around ...It was her room...She sat confused on her bed...

Gunjan: Veera...utt gayi tu...yeh le...neembu ka pani hai ...jaldi se peeja...

(Hi Veera..u r up...fine have this lemon juice fast)

Veera: Bhabi ..mein chai peelungi...

(No I will have tea)

Gunjan: Nahi nahi Veera...tu abb ye neebupani peelena...baadh mein main tereliye chai bana dethi hoon...teek hai ...

(No No Veera..u have this lime juice for now... i will make tea for u in a little shile)

Veera: Nahi bhabhi...

Gunjan: Veera ..abb tu zidh mat kar..peeja jaldi se...tujhe nahi pilaya tho Veerji se daant kani hai mujhe...She blurted out

(Veera...dont be stubborn...just have this juice else I will have to get scoldings from brother for not having made u drink this), she blurted out

Veera: ki...Baldev se daant kani hai...kyun???

(Baldev's scolding you...but why?)

Gunjan: nahi nahi...kuch nahi Veera...tum jaldi se neeche aaja...

(Oh nothing Veera...you just come down fast)

Veera tried to recollect all that happened last night...

She blushed deep red when she realized what had happened...but how did she end up here on her bed...Her phone bell rang

Baldev: Good morning Veerakadi...

Veera: Baldev woh main kal raat...

Baldev: Meeti yaadein hai kudi hamare..sambalkar rakna...abb jaldi se neembu paani peelena aur jaldi se neeche chali jaa...Just make it fast...because you future Mother-in-law is a very hard nut to crack and she will definitely not like being made waiting..

Veera: (Shocked)What Bansuri tayaji is downstairs...ok bye... I need to get ready...Veera ran to the bath and got ready in a record ten minutes and rushed downstairs to meet her mother-in-law...
