Salmania at its peak, 'Kick' Enters 200 cr Club!

'Mere baare mein itna mat sochna, dil mein aata hoon, samajh mein nahin'. The now-legendary dialogue delivered by Salman Khan in KICK comes to my mind as I pen this article. Let me explain!

KICK, which posted remarkable figures in Week 1, continued its magnificent run in Weekend 2 as well. The assumption [of some people] that KICK was yet another film showcasing Salman's antics has been negated by the paying public, who seem to have appreciated/cherished the film. The skyrocketing business of the film clearly proves that the wide majority of spectators have embraced the film affectionately. If the film was rejected, the business would've dwindled and shrunk after a splendid start. No film -- I repeat, no film -- can work on star power for more than a day. Salman Khan + the content of the film have worked in this case. For that reason, the dialogue needs to be modified slightly: It has been loved and understood too.

KICK, which opened during the holy month of Ramadan, when a big chunk of the movie-going audience stays away from films, also braved heavy downpour in various parts of the country [including Mumbai, which contributes enormously to film business].

KICK continued its record-breaking spree in its second weekend too. With no major Hindi film to contend with, the field was clear for KICK to continue its dominance and supremacy at the box-office. Like I pointed out earlier, KICK is Salman's seventh entry into the 100 cr Club and is all set to be Salman's first film to cross over to the 200 cr Club, thus becoming Salman's highest grosser in the domestic market.

While Salman cements his superstardom with KICK, Sajid Nadiadwala too is going through the best phase in his career, with HIGHWAY, 2 STATES, HEROPANTI and KICK hitting the bull's eye. His production house has had an incredible year and with a slew of films in the pipeline, Sajid is a force to reckon with today.
