I think some of you guys missed the part of the show before Nikumbh and Yamini met. He hated her and her brand then and he has always hated her popularity and star status. He made ugly comments when ever he ran into her. When they were forced to work together he wasn't actually thrilled. She on the other hand was always civil to him. She valued his friendship and meant well. But he never cared to find out. Things didn't go his way after the play so he just totally trashed her and her friendship. It's not like they have to work together. Why did he refuse the director who offered him to assist with his next movie? Didn't he say that Yamini is not ready but he would like to work with Nikumbh?

I think Yamini has probably just had enough of being treated like a dumb, selfish popularity seeker. She's not but she is being judged on the face of it. Wouldn't you get mad if someone keeps putting you down? Some people are just so bitter that they could kill you with their poisonous words.

No, I haven't missed that part of the show.

But I think you may have missed the part of the show where Nikumb very much cared to go out of his way to UNDERSTAND her and HELP her in conquering her fears, to become an ACTOR...Yamini knew NOTHING about acting or theater until Nikumb helped her.

So for her to now behave as if she's an EXPERT on theater and DESERVES equal say in the play's creative setup is absolutely uncalled for.

I'm a bit amazed at how you've completely ignored how much Nikumb valued her friendship and went out of his way to help her be it conquering her fear of the dark or helping her find her father's long lost friend...a little selective memory at play, haan?

You're talking like Nikumb has been constantly mean to her and she's been SUFFERING him all along...that is not how it happened at all...Yamini has taken his friendship for GRANTED and crossed her limits in exercising whatever rights she felt she had over him...that is the gist of the situation.

Well, Yamini seems to be a lost case. She has no identity, as of yet, and nearly always needs steeping stones to move ahead.
She is in her own world, thinking that this will always be the same, no matter what!

Even during the play rehearsals, Yamini wanted him to rewrite the scene on the spot cuz she didn't feel like enacting it as he wrote?😕😕

Why am I getting the feeling that the writers are trying to weave in some kind of "romance" through the play rehearsals but honestly it's not working😕

Baap ki beti ...is where its coming from😆. Totally in agreement with your post. I have no clue whos this girl who throws papers in anger , and what she did to the coy Yams.

Changing of script coz she didnt "feel" it ... 😲

And you are right ...i am preparing(NOT) to see a contrived " romance" 😡

On contrary...I remember all those parts quite well.

Not sure if you remember all the times where Nikumbh have been considerate, attentive, a true friend. He has gone above and beyond more than once and not only apologized many times for his rudeness, but also acknowledged the friendship.

He clearly mentioned few times how much he values trust in a friendship. Yamini appears to have shrugged that off as end justifies the means.🤢

Yamini's character continues to be worst.. Completely self involved and playing victim card. completely oblivious to her mom's situation. Bipolar and inexplicable reactions to her dad's comments about Nikumbh. Has been shown to have irrational dreams expecting Nikumbh to come grovelling with zero guilt of going back on her word and betraying trust.

She lies, manipulates situations to present herself in the best light. In many ways, her character is on worse. It didn't start like this but CVs seem to have lost it after the play.

Don't get me started on the "artist" part .

Trust me.. I really want to empathize with the female lead but the character leaves a lot to be desired. One dimensional badly written character accompanied with wooden acting makes a painful watch.. especially given the almost-perfect performance being delivered by Nikumbh, Raghu and other key characters.

If Shaheen and Azam weren't an item already, I would say.. Nikumbh-Shaheen have way more chemistry than Yamini ..and I wish they had casted someone like Shaheen for Yamini's role. Shaheen's does a fantastic job expressing her emotions with voice modulations.

Even though I don't like seeing Azam being played..I still enjoy watching Shaheen as the actress delivers.

I really hope they change the actress playing Yamini. Sometimes some roles are not easy. We are several weeks into the show..and its just sad to watch continued sub-par performance with bad writing ... in otherwise a fantastic show.

NM ..please come back and save this character Yamini and make it relatable. 😕
How can they create a character like Yamini for an absolute gem like Nikumbh.

@mithoo: Agree with you word for word...and yes even I feel Azam-Shaheen have much better chemistry and could actually portray a workable romantic track...

Nikumb-Yamini seem like a lost cause at this point...Vinita never really wowed me to begin with and now she's struggling even more with a terribly written character...it's a struggle to tolerate Yamini now.

Well.. 😊 I edited my response few times..as initial one was much stronger and i pride myself on being openminded
multiple edits .and left in some typos and glaring grammatical mistakes.. Will never pass Nikumbh test 😛😉 but then again.. I am not a writer.. more into paints and sculptures

In any case.. there is complete amnesia on one entire day Nikumbh spent chasing down Yamini's Uncle. Granted Yamini and Uncle did give credit where due..but the entire episode watching Nikumbh's discomfort at Yamini's home was so beautifully performed.

Every single discomfort was felt acutely ..and was shown well. Till that time..Yamini was still relatable though her performance was not at same level as rest but still ok.

There is a huge gap between that Yamini that was still growing and the Yamini after the play end. It's like the writer changed. If I was the actress playing the role..I would question writers ..

Maybe the actress wooden performance is because she herself is not connecting to this characterization ?

All the male actors seem to have become one with their role. My problem is the way all women characters are written.

Shaheen, Daddo and Vidhayak jee's daughter still delivered even though the character sketch is weak but they are rising above the material and thats a complement to their talent.

Yamini and her mom are not able to rise above the shabby material and they are not the only ones to blame. Director, writer , CV and actors all have part to play for the glaring misses ..

Off the pedestal now 😆

Hi there... good point.. but if you remember his response when he rejected the offer.. it was clear that he is not interested in being assistant director in Bollywood but his dream and goal is to stay in Lucknow and revive/build theater scene locally. He did thank the director for being considered and explained very clearly why he is turning it down.

If you go and re-watch.. You will see that BW director also understood and gets that Nikumbh is more into grassroot or theater genre.

Yes..Nikumbh was also throwing angry glances at Yamini but remember her silly antics of writing on napkin..and completely ignoring her dad snide remarks.

His anger was ..for betrayal.. and also the fact that she didn't look guilty or apologetic. I grant that Nikumbh should have foreseen this that Yamini is not Shakuntala. He also is at mistake of being over confident in this still very new friendship.

Yamini is being judged as selfish popularity seeker after the play as all her actions and gestures point to it. Her reactions at press conference were a joke. Her complements were back handed..and misleading. It could be bad acting or bad writing but whole press conference a complete joke.

Until Yamini changed character, the show was going fine. Nikumbh made some judgement errors as did Yamini. They both acknowledged these issues.. worked through them.. helped each other deal with insecurities and became friends. Big thing... they trusted each other.

During this time, Nikumbh admitted many times that Yamini is not selfish. Yamini also realized Nikumbh is indeed the person who made her a better person and is a gem.

Then play happened. and the ending changed for the play.

All of us here.. expected this.. and that was fine.

What most of us didn't expect was complete turnaround in Yamini's character. It really looks like.. the writer changed or creative changed the direction of this character. There is a complete disconnect. Yamini till the play ending changed...made sense.

Yamini's behavior and reactions.. after the play ending changed.. make zero sense given her journey till that point. complete disconnect.

Nikumbh agreeing to working with her despite his issues ..was explained as being practical..and simply..paapi pait ka sawaal hai..one gotta eat..He will still be creating. Its obvious he hates this compromise.

What's sadder is even Nikumbh's character may be getting messed up now.

Wonder if what happened in play is happening behind the scenes 😆😆 That someone played politics.😆😆

NM..please please..come and save the show 😊
