Ego clashes and stupidities all around

There are two major sets of ego clashes going on in the show currently...that of Nikumb v/s Yamini and Nikumb v/s Raghu...and the latter is increasing the misunderstandings in the former.

What confounds me mainly is where Yamini's ego is coming from...this show started off showing her as a very sehmi hui girl crying at her window on most nights cuz she feels trapped by her father's ambitions for her.

Phase 2 involved Yamini taking up the play and conquering her fears with Nikumb's help...I was led to believe as was most of the audience that she RESPECTS Nikumb a lot for what he's done for her, the way he helped her develop as an actor...

Now all of a sudden, Yamini is taking great affront to any amount of sarcasm coming from Nikumb...she just wants to have fun and chill with her friends...if at one point she had respect for Nikumb, it seems to have completely evaporated along with any tiny amount of understanding she possibly had regarding his creative vision.

Granted, the misunderstandings are making it worse...Nikumb projects his irritation with Raghu's manipulations onto Yamini...but at the same time, Yamini has no call to behave the way she does with him in response.

The most appalling scene today was the one regarding the conditions that Yamini laid down...yet again parroting her, "I'll interfere when I see fit" mantra even as Nikumb clearly told her not to interfere in his creative vision...where is this business of EQUALS coming from? You did ONE play, lady...that suddenly makes you Meryl Streep? If you were trying to baanto gyaan about what an audience likes in a SINGER, I could still grant you that but seriously you want to preach to a guy who's done theater all his life that you will change his writing whenever you see fit? WOW...I honestly have no words...yet again this ARROGANCE in Yamini...I have no idea where it's coming from...giving someone self-confidence brings out THIS side to them? I had no idea.

Even during the play rehearsals, Yamini wanted him to rewrite the scene on the spot cuz she didn't feel like enacting it as he wrote?😕😕

So what is going on here? Is there some magical subtext the writers are going with that totally escapes me? Is Yamini acting up cuz she's got feelings for Nikumb and doesn't know how to handle them? So they come out in such an arrogant form? I mean what was that romantic scene supposed to be about today? Is Yamini sexually frustrated?😆

Oh and we got to see Akhlaque's poem aise hi...kab aayi, kab gayi, pata bhi nahin chalaa...

Why am I getting the feeling that the writers are trying to weave in some kind of "romance" through the play rehearsals but honestly it's not working😕

Romance ?? really ?? and what did u write ...oh yes!! "Is Yamini sexually frustrated?" Epic interpretation Anu !No one ever made me laugh this way ! U just made my day ( or rather night ) today yaar !🤣
well if u think this way ...yamini has already fallen for nikumbh and is sexually frustrated and because nikumbh is not giving her a single bhaw in real life while all smiling and mouthing fantastic dreamy romantic lines to woo her on stage holding her hand, her sexual frustration jumps crescendo and all frustration and sexual tensions bursts forth in form of tantrums, arrogance and interference , then yes the episode makes sense !! else it was plain gibberish.
And thank u for bringing forth such fantastic theory and mitigating my intellectual frustration 😆

P.S -- Do u really think cvs here are making lesson plans to teach psychology-illiterate,craving for melodrama TRP audiences a little bit of Freud and Jung ??😆 and making their repressed sexual undercurrent theories alive in reel ??

Shreya was right yesterday- yamini is her daddy's daughter! That is the only conclusion I reached after watching today. It seems that she knows that Nikumb is sort of defeated and majboor and all those terms she was dictating- it totally seemed as if she was taking advantage of Nikumb's position!
And yes- as you say- WHAT does she know about acting. writing or directing that she has started dictating her terms like that?! And again- jo audience ko pasand hai voh hi karenge? And the last bit- way over the top reaction- kya tantrum tha voh? Her papa would be really proud of her now- ekdum sahi raste par jaa rahi hai!

I felt really bad for Nikumb that he had to rise above the resentment and the anger he feels, inorder to survive and make his dream possible. And now he has to go through THIS- THIS obnoxiously behaving father daughter duo and saho it atay afloat! Yeh duniya aisi hi hai - yahan 'right' and 'true' people always have to go through the roughest and hardest kind of grind!

I wish they had used Akhlaque's poem for a better situation- really- itni achhi poem ko itne artificial scene par use kar dia?

The best thing about the episode was Nikumb and Azam making up though! And Nikumb- can he bounce back? From anger to depression to rejection to acceptance... and NIKUMB is back!

Shalini !
this father-daughter duo is testing my patience real hard and alluring me to run away from the show. but I hav made up my mind to watch it atleast for nikumbh-azam...i would watch the show in hopes one day they will taste the sweetness of success in pursuing their dreams, and esp nikumbh placing a sound slap in the face of these obnoxious people.
has yamini totally lost it?? or the cvs ?? since when an actor, even if he/she is famous enough to carry the whole play/film upon his/her own shoulders is given the right to overrule director's judgement and decision and change the script /scene according to his/her own whims ? He has only the right to accept or decline the offer after reading the script, and after that director is the only boss there even if he is a newcomer making his debut and even if the main lead is a veteran and much acclaimed one. If he/she has to decide what to act she can write the whole play herself, why sabotaging Nikumbh's ideas and damaging his literary talents to the core...and because she has realised that nikumbh has actually a loose footing the is exploiting him to her heart's contents...the clauses what are they actually ?? I will also decide what would be played on stage ?? and if nobody agrees one of her chamchas will decide, because she is an audience and because whatever staged is always for audience's pleasure...wah wah kya logic !! ji man gaye bhai, cvs are showing excellent brain in writing yamini such a way that her superficiality, ill education and brainlessness is shining clear in broad daylight ! and what to say about her throwing script, interrupting in each and every intense moment, demanding for changes because she is not feeling confortable...and trying to ire nikumbh by virtually standing upon his toes...what to make from all this...well , yes as anu says, her extremely repressed sexual desires taking devious moves and expressing themselves in a complete opposite way...other than that no real logical reason...
and now we r expected to jhelo her, admire her courage, love her for her innocene and expect she would win Nikumbh's love one day ?? Why man, given a chance I would rather throw her in the Gomati river rather than letting her come close to him !

Anu ,
The part I liked most today :

None of us had any idea Anu that helping to shape up one's confidence and maturity can hav such disastrous effects. Mentors, beware !!😆

Lol... *Shakes head and rolls on the floor laughing*
I LOVE your explanation! I was horrified after watching the scene but I can now view it in a totally different light! 😆
Kya ho kya raha hai yaha? Kya play? Kaisa play? I thought Nikumbh's theater group was also involved in this, but yaha toh bina kisi story ke bhagwan jane kya ho raha hai!
Nikumbh only said that writing ke hisaab se acting hoti hai, not the other way round. Iss me bhi she took offense? No, honestly, there is definitely something going on here. Itna toh they CAN'T butcher Yamini! What are they up to? I am TOTALLY baffled! She has started treating him like he should be indebted to her! And manipulating him left, right, center!
Has she really joined her father in his schemes? What was that precap? Does she have a greater motive behind all this?
And why, why are they treating Nikumbh like a god-damned mop! Itna humiliation kaafi nahi tha? He can't get a single opening without Yamini, Raghu treats him like shit and encourages his daughter to do the same, and now Yamini gets a plane ticket for him! Has she lost it?! Why should Nikumbh be at all okay with this? He has SOME self-respect! If this is not some sort of nightmare, why the hell are they treating Nikumbh like he can be walked all over?! Honestly, I'd prefer seeing Nikumbh do a 9-5 ordinary job! Anything but this kind of shit! Let Yamini go the hell out and become a superstar on her own terms! Itna kaise gira sakte hai? Please tell me there is more to this than what seemingly appears!
And Akhlaque's poem... This is what they do with it? Kitna idiotic scene tha woh! Aise waste kiya ek AMAZING poem ko?
Has there been a change in the writing team? Aisa lag raha hai ek nakli Yamini import karke le aaye hai! What nonsense!

Honestly. They get treated like this! Why can't Nikumbh just go out and get some job? Make some money and come back to theater! I know ego should never come between things that matter, but this is not about some ego! Goodness, he has some kind of self-respect! I hope to see him throw the plane ticket ticket on her face, but that won't happen!

@Shreya, Tanisha: LOL glad I could make you guys laugh :P

Honestly I'm at my wits end trying to figure out where they are going with Yamini cuz this all seems DELIBERATE and not written for the heck of it...so after wracking and wracking my brain for explanations, this is all that was left...although I feel the execution is SEVERELY lacking if THAT is the explanation they are going for...that it's "sexual tension" coming out in the form of arrogance and ego clashes...I don't really think this is the show to be using THAT funda to show "chemistry"...sad...unless I'm totally wrong and NM can give us some satisfying explanation for this childish behavior from Yamini.

I think what still keeps me hanging is my admiration for Nikumb's character...the way he managed to be practical and move on today into doing the play despite his self-respect again and again being targetted.

Yes, I also liked their making up scene and I'm glad things are back to normal b/w them...Nikumb definitely bounced back well today...and I'm glad he's trying to help fix the Azam-Shaheen situation too.

Yamini actually dared to say that Nikumb is worse than Raghu today😕...this chick is delusional beyond belief.
