What confounds me mainly is where Yamini's ego is coming from...this show started off showing her as a very sehmi hui girl crying at her window on most nights cuz she feels trapped by her father's ambitions for her.
Phase 2 involved Yamini taking up the play and conquering her fears with Nikumb's help...I was led to believe as was most of the audience that she RESPECTS Nikumb a lot for what he's done for her, the way he helped her develop as an actor...
Now all of a sudden, Yamini is taking great affront to any amount of sarcasm coming from Nikumb...she just wants to have fun and chill with her friends...if at one point she had respect for Nikumb, it seems to have completely evaporated along with any tiny amount of understanding she possibly had regarding his creative vision.
Granted, the misunderstandings are making it worse...Nikumb projects his irritation with Raghu's manipulations onto Yamini...but at the same time, Yamini has no call to behave the way she does with him in response.
The most appalling scene today was the one regarding the conditions that Yamini laid down...yet again parroting her, "I'll interfere when I see fit" mantra even as Nikumb clearly told her not to interfere in his creative vision...where is this business of EQUALS coming from? You did ONE play, lady...that suddenly makes you Meryl Streep? If you were trying to baanto gyaan about what an audience likes in a SINGER, I could still grant you that but seriously you want to preach to a guy who's done theater all his life that you will change his writing whenever you see fit? WOW...I honestly have no words...yet again this ARROGANCE in Yamini...I have no idea where it's coming from...giving someone self-confidence brings out THIS side to them? I had no idea.
Even during the play rehearsals, Yamini wanted him to rewrite the scene on the spot cuz she didn't feel like enacting it as he wrote?😕😕
So what is going on here? Is there some magical subtext the writers are going with that totally escapes me? Is Yamini acting up cuz she's got feelings for Nikumb and doesn't know how to handle them? So they come out in such an arrogant form? I mean what was that romantic scene supposed to be about today? Is Yamini sexually frustrated?😆
Oh and we got to see Akhlaque's poem aise hi...kab aayi, kab gayi, pata bhi nahin chalaa...
Why am I getting the feeling that the writers are trying to weave in some kind of "romance" through the play rehearsals but honestly it's not working😕
