marriage expenses shared by two families is ideal and thats the best way to divide the burden of the marriage cost. however, throwing a luxurious party or having a simple close family friends party is personal choice. westerners usually share the marriage cost and that is remarkable since it doesnt puts the stress on only one family. some people just sign marriage papers and then go out for a lunch with closed ones 😛. i have seen such people. it all has to do with how much marriage means to them and how much they want to publicize their marriage. having a simple wedding doesnt mean that they are not happy and neither throwing a pompous party weighs the happiness of the married couple. its just their choice to choose how they want it to be😛
