Balaji, it appears, loves to spring surprises (even shocks) on actors. Jaya Bhattacharya has become the latest to be at the receiving end of their snap decision-making. The actress, who was essaying the role of Jigayasa in Kasamh Se, is no longer in the show. What's more, she was dumped rather unceremoniously. Obviously, the production house doesn't deem it necessary to inform its actors when it sacks them.

The story goes back to the time when Ashwini Kalsekar was essaying the role of Jigyasa in Balaji's Kasamh Se. Kalsekar's character of Jigyasa became a household name in no time. Somewhere in between something went wrong drastically, with Ashwini Kalsekar opting out of the show citing creative differences. At that time, Balaji approached Jaya Bhattacharya who accepted the role.

Now, Ashwini is back in the show. Needless to say, Jaya is no longer part of it. Jaya Bhattacharya when contacted, said, "I too have heard that I am no longer in the show and that Ashwini is back in it."

Jaya shot for Kasamh Se on Tuesday. And was ousted on Wednesday. Didn't she receive a call from the production house about her ouster? "I heard that Ashwini was returning to the show from my friend on Tuesday, so I had an idea that the production house was speaking with Ashwini about her comeback, but no one at Balaji told me anything. They called me on Wednesday to tell me that Ashwini is coming back in the show," she added.

Jaya, surprisingly, refuses to take any of this to heart. "I don't want to point out what is ethical and what is unethical. I guess it would have been nicer on their part if they had informed me beforehand. All I know is that I was stepping into other actor's shoe. It was Ashwini Kalsekar's character and I never felt very good playing the role," she said.

Is she going to talk to Balaji about this? "I don't want to talk to anyone on this issue. What I feel is a different case altogether, and I would prefer not to talk about it. What production house or the channel feels matters most for the serial. I am happy that Jigyasa was Ashwini's property and she is back with it," she added.

Is she feeling sandwiched between production house and Ashwini and the serial? "Sandwich? Mera toh papad ban gaya!" she laughed.
