Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania will dominate the box office again this week and with kick releasing next Friday the Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer will need a good second week if it is to get near the 75 crore nett mark .

Hate Story is the probably the best of the new releases in terms of initial but the film is mainly for single screens and business in in most circuits is down in single screens due to Ramadan. It is not the best time in the year to release a single screen film and will basically act as a one week filler at single screens before Kick.

The other two releases Amit Sahni Ki list and Pizza are multiplex films dependent on word of mouth but face strong competition from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which has mainly done well at multiplexes.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania had a good first day collecting around 9 crore nett on day one. The film was very good in Delhi city and East Punjab with Delhi city comfortably going over 1 crore nett mark and East Punjab also crossing the 1 crore nett mark.
Rajasthan and Mysore also did well while Mumbai circuit also had decent collections despite torrential rain in Mumbai city which would have been in strongest area in Mumbai circuit. The other circuits like CP Berar, CI, Nizam / Andhra had average collections. FLOP.
The film will score well in North due to the content while the rest of the country should also manage good collections at least for the weekend. The film could show growth on Saturday as its strongest circuits like Delhi and Punjab tend to grow on Saturday. The collections were the seventh highest collections for day one this year.

All I will say is that please don't mock next time.

But it did not collect 10 Cr on its first day. It was a whole 10% off from your prediction. Thats quite a bit. It was also 10% off from my 8 cr so lets just call it even.

@dz651 I look at all sources actually. When the numbers are similar to one another (ex. BOI and Taran figures being similar) then it makes things easier. The only problem arises when one source gives a number completely different from another (ex. Krrish 3 lifetime being 170ish or whatever according to BOI, while Taran giving figure of 244, and Komal also said it was 200+. That was confusing)

At the end of the day though, I think it's best to go with the numbers that the majority of the trade says about a film's collections.

@Bossman dude I felt it was mocking because of the "haha" and the "likh le le lo" which seemed more like a challenge. I'm just saying because you said it would get nowhere near 10 crores, but actual collection was only 1 crore off (it made about 9 crores).

Fair enough though bro, we can call it even. Actual Collection was in between what you gave as peak (8 Cr) and what I gave as prediction (10 Cr). But film had good possibility of collecting 10 crores if the rain didn't happen/if Lai Bhari didn't affect HSKD collections in Maharasthra.

The film has grossed 65.50 crore nett in eleven days and should be around 70 crore nett by the end of its second week and probably finish at around 72 crore nett for its lifetime business.
